2014: Virgo Horoscope: Love, Career, & General Trends
2014 Overview for all Virgos.
Virgos are known for their strong connection to work and service. However, while work will assume some importance in 2014, dear Virgo, you are now paying more attention to other needs – social, spiritual, and personal. There is a healing process going on for you this year. It’s a time of service, but also a time for getting the rest you need. In the first half of 2014, you’re continuing a cycle in which connections to friends, groups, and your community are beneficial and important. It’s a strong time for reaching out to others, networking, and making connections. There can be group involvements that bring you much joy, new friendships that feed your spirit, and a larger focus on “happiness” goals all around. Particularly in May, many of you are making lasting connections, possibly working on important projects with others, and sharing your knowledge with friends or associates. You could be finding your “voice” through others or through group connections. This is a fine time to lay down solid plans for long-term goals. Financial matters are in need of some serious review in the first half of the year. It will be especially important to get money matters sorted out. Motivation to increase your own income is strong now, and possibly fueled by problems with loans, taxes, alimony, or shared money, which may not be very reliable. Many benefits can come through working towards some level of financial independence this year. The second half of the year brings Jupiter, the planet of abundance, into your privacy zone. This year-long influence (it lasts until August 2015) prefaces Jupiter’s transit of your own sign, which will bring you out of your shell and confident enough to reap your due rewards. Until then, there will be more emphasis on privacy, down time, relaxation, meditation, and rest. There can also be some sacrifices made for others, as your own needs seem to be less pressing as those of the people you love, and to humanity as a whole in some cases. You may be doing a lot for others at this time, and mostly quite happily. You more easily brush ego issues aside, recognizing your contribution to others as highly important. Of course, you need to draw some boundaries, but for the most part, this is all a voluntary process that brings you joy. There can be a lot of focus on serving the family in the second half of the year and well into 2015. While this is a time for healing from the inside out and some escapism from the pressures of the world, as well as the pressures you place on yourself, it’s of course important to avoid overdoing escapist tendencies. Be sure to check in from time to time and determine whether it’s doing more harm than good.
From September forward especially, there is beautiful energy for any kind of psychological or physical healing programs and work, financial initiatives, an awakening of inner life and spirituality, and powerful intuition. You can rely wonderfully on your intuition at this time. You can improve intimacy in relationships, as well as in your relationship with yourself! Generally speaking, love relationships can be much as they were last year, as the similar energies continue to influence your relationship sectors in 2014. You require more than the ordinary, humdrum, and regular experiences in order for your heart to engage. Some of you could be attracting tumultuous love relationships – casual relationships that end up demanding a lot from you, and possibly draining you. Some could be attracting controlling or intense people in love. Committed relationships can be very unclear and hard to define. You will need to be careful that you’re not holding out for someone unattainable and missing out on more empowering relationship opportunities in the process. Love can seem to require sacrifices, and there is a point when you may need to draw some boundaries and look out for yourself. Love opportunities can arise in places of learning or through connections made online or on the phone. Some of you could be working on projects that require a lot of attention to detail, or could be involved in demanding learning endeavors. Students have good energy for applying themselves and taking on responsibility this year, but there can be times when they feel a little overwhelmed. 2014 is powerful for healing, socializing, resting, and preparing for busier years to come. Full overview.
2014 Details.
Until July 16th, Jupiter continues to move through your solar eleventh house, bringing benefits and fresh energy to networking activities, the formulation of broad, long-term goals, acquaintances, clubs, and organizations in your life. You can rely on your friends for their help and support, and your circle of friends could most certainly increase during this fruitful transit.
Your long-term goals and wishes tend to be broad and perhaps unusual or ahead of the times during this cycle. You may particularly enjoy dreaming up ideas for the future. Achieving your goals tends to come more easily. Others especially value your advice and often turn to you for help. You could become more active with friends or in your community. You may have opportunities to join or lead clubs or groups. Group activities and associations could be avenues for fulfilling your own goals. You may take special joy in sharing a common cause or ideals with others. You are especially hopeful and more inclined to believe that if you wish it, it will be! Income from your business or career is likely to increase.
You might be more tolerant of others in general, and of differences in values. Reaching out beyond your personal circle can certainly open doors to you and bring joy into your life during this cycle. You might also expand your social circle through pursuit of family activities and goals. Some Virgos will enjoy an extended family of sorts, welcoming new “regulars” in their home who are family in spirit.
These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life. Also, Jupiter can bring too much of a good thing at times, and you might find that your social agenda is crammed or that you have taken on more friends or goals than you can reasonably handle.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar eleventh house, from March 6th to July 16th.
Jupiter entering Leo on July 16th puts this planet of growth and expansion in your solar twelfth house. From July 2014 to August 2015, you may enjoy benefits to activities that take place “behind the scenes” or otherwise privately, as well as in the soul. This is a cycle in which you become more compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive, or get in deeper touch with these traits.
Jupiter in the twelfth house is said to offer one spiritual protection. This is a time when you can rid yourself of self-destructive tendencies, deep-seated fears, and deeply-ingrained tendencies towards guilty feelings. You are more able to get in touch with your subconscious mind, and in fact, confronting your fears can be quite pleasurable during this period.
Charity, giving/donating anonymously, volunteering, and helping others without expectation of reward will be most fulfilling during this cycle. Helping others actually helps you. Work that involves serving others may begin now and bring you much joy.
Your dreaming world may be especially rich, lighter, helpful, and more intuitive. Meditation and retreats may be particularly helpful to you now, as they regenerate and invigorate your spirit. Much pleasure and growth might be found in solitude and contemplation. You may pick up New Age studies, spirituality, dream interpretation, or research during this cycle. Some people enter into a private romance during this cycle. In general, help seems to be there when you need it. You are building or rebuilding your inner faith now.
These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life. There may be some sacrifices required in your family life, or your domestic life can be especially private.
Jupiter’s influence is generally considered positive, and it is, ultimately. However, it acts to magnify the area of the chart that it affects, and at times it can be uncomfortable if you are having difficulties in this area. In your case, if you are lonely or if you feel helpless, and if you have troubles facing your past, then this influence can heighten these issues. Ultimately, it’s for the good. The cosmos asks you now to surrender some of your attachments, and to surrender to the unknown. Releasing control is necessary. Building your faith is the work you are doing now. While your tendency is to play a supportive role to others, if taken too far, you will need to draw some boundaries when it comes to your energy and time.
Your perceptions heighten, and in fact, intuition is extremely reliable now. Your ability to make sacrifices for others increases, and you might build your confidence in yourself as you help and support others. September forward is especially strong for strengthening love ties as well as getting into better touch with your inner world and deeper feelings.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar twelfth house, from July 16th to December 8th. (This transit lasts until August 2015).
Saturn transits your solar third house again this year. This transit that began in October 2012 ends in December, but only for a short time. It will resume and finish up from June 2015 to September 2015. You are more productive, with a responsible and sometimes even somber outlook during this period. Although you have a desire to make contacts, you are now rather preoccupied with learning or producing, and you may view idle chit-chat as a waste of time. You could feel an unusual pressure to structure your time and effort, and to cut out communication that seems unnecessary. You are more able to accomplish something solid this year. By the end of the transit, you will have ideally gained a greater depth of understanding, having focused on information and communication that you can really use to feel more effective in the world.
Pluto is in your solar fifth house this year. This extremely long-term transit brings gradual but deep changes in attitudes towards love affairs, creativity, hobbies, recreation, children, and entertainment. You might feel that your affections and interests have been turned inside out or upside down – that on some levels, you are no longer the same person. Expectations transform again this year. Intensity and passion are craved now, and mediocre will no longer do.
Uranus continues its lengthy transit of your solar eighth house. There could be some ambiguities or unexpected happenings surrounding money that are part of your life but that don’t originate from your own income. This includes such things as shared resources with a close partner, alimony, taxes, loans, and so forth. At times, this could throw you off balance. This position could also indicate a period of uncertainty surrounding your intimate relationships, and/or some experimentation with your sexuality.
The influence of Neptune is similar to last year for those of you born August 31-September 2 or with a Virgo Ascendant of 8-10 degrees. Neptune continues to transit your solar sixth house, as it has been doing for a number of years. You are more susceptible to medications, chemicals, and other such things during this long-term cycle, so keep this in mind. Stress more easily affects your health as well. Some confusion on the job may have been part of the picture, or your job may have steered towards compassionate service, charity, or other helping professions. Although Virgos are known for their ability to stick to schedules, Neptune’s presence here has made it more challenging to do so. However, for those born August 26-30 (or 3 to 7-1/2 degrees Virgo Ascendant), Neptune begins its transit of your solar seventh house and opposes your Sun/Ascendant this year, casting some “fog” over your partnerships. You may be meeting evasiveness in a partner or potential mates. A more accepting or spiritual approach to partnerships is what you are moving towards, but there can be some confusion and possibly disillusionment in the process. It can be hard to pin down a partner to a solid commitment. Or, you may begin to attract Neptunian people into your life–at best, they can be compassionate, artistic, or spiritual types. At the other end of the spectrum, they can be elusive, evasive, or downright deceptive. You could struggle somewhat with your own expectations in partnerships. Self-deception may very well be in play, and when others don’t quite measure up to their expectations, disappointments occur. Do your best to see people for who they are rather than what you’d really like them to be. Your own goals could be confusing, and your energy levels could swing quite dramatically at times, perhaps reflecting this inner confusion. A more spiritual approach to your life is in order, and this Neptune transit calls upon you to detach yourself from some of your more worldly and materialistic goals. For those born August 23-25 or with a Virgo Ascendant of 0-2 degrees, Neptune continues to transit your solar seventh house, and all of these things apply, except with less intensity, as you’ve already experienced the more acute elements of this transit.
Your ruler, Mercury, turns retrograde typically at least three times in the course of a year. These periods are better used for reflection rather than for pushing personal plans ahead. In 2014, Mercury is retrograde from February 6-28, June 7-July 1, and October 4-25. These are times for gaining a new perspective on problem areas in your life.
The North Node of the Moon is transiting your solar third house until mid-February 2014, and this suggests that some of the greatest joys – and challenges – come through learning, communications, and connecting. You need to learn to listen to others so that you discover the value of true communication and exchange, and to see both sides of a situation. Learning to slow down, to be sensitive to social graces and networks, and to sensitize yourself to others’ needs and communications, will release you from nervous tension and help you achieve more happiness and inner balance.
The North Node of the Moon is transiting your solar second house from mid-February 2014 forward, and this suggests that some of the greatest joys – and challenges – come through learning about your values and self-worth. Personal income, possessions, and values are in strong focus. You need to learn to depend on yourself and to establish your self-worth through your own efforts.
Eclipses in 2014 fall in your third and ninth houses, and in your second and eighth houses. You will be learning to expand your horizons, possibly through contact with people from an entirely different background than yours, travel, or higher learning. Your personal philosophy will be changing, and eclipses give you a push towards adopting beliefs that truly work for you in the real world. You are learning about your need for self-expression through adventure. There may also be some sort of drama surrounding communication, modes of transportation, mobility, neighbors, or siblings that requires you to reorganize. As well, your finances are evolving in important ways. You will be called upon to strike a balance between your own needs for security and comfort and the same needs of other people, such as those of a significant other. Some re-shuffling of money and resources may be in order.
Again this year, and especially in April and December, you could be dealing with erratic sources of income or cash flow, particularly with money coming in from other sources than your own income. There can be challenges regarding whether a romance is casual or more than that.
May and June are strong for your social life. Friends can be especially supportive and can actually help you out with your practical affairs. There can be a real learning experience with someone with whom you can bounce ideas off. Ideas about how to go about manifesting your innermost desires and dreams can be golden at this time. Partnering up or joining groups can be productive. There may be plans laid down for a communications job or project, and you may be finding a voice through group connections made now. This is a strong period for networking, particularly business-related. Networking is strong for you right now, and opens you up to many new possibilities and ideas. A friend could be integral in achieving your goals, and partnering with a friend in some tangible way can be part of the picture now. Some of you may take a friendship into unexplored romantic territory, or meet a significant person through a friend or group association.
From September forward is strong for discovering resources that you may never have known you had. Help seems to be magically there when you need it, and your own awesome strength and faith is always there to draw upon. You could be working on a project in solitude or behind the scenes, and when you do come out with it, it could be quite profitable. There can be breakthroughs on a psychological or intimate level now that give you a strong feeling that you are moving forward.
