Your Planetary Ruler in 2012: Mars, your planetary ruler and the planet of action, will occupy the sign of Virgo for an unusually long time in 2012. This places special emphasis in your horoscope on health, routines, and work. 2012 begins with Mars in Virgo. From January 23rd to April 13th, Mars is retrograde. This is a time for internalizing and reflection on your actions as well as your personality, dear Aries. Watch for mild paranoia (this is especially true with Pluto in your tenth house), accidents. You may need to reassess your current projects, your approach to getting what you want, and your desire nature. You may be hesitant about taking action, second-guessing your instincts or your natural impulses rather than acting upon them. The way you react to situations under normal conditions doesn’t necessarily work for you now, or you don’t exactly trust it. When anger is internalized, there can be some rather negative byproducts, such as tension, resentment, depression, apathy, and even some paranoia. On the other hand, it can also be personalized and made more intimate. The goal of a Mars retrograde period is not, however, to simply sit on our impulses or to squelch our enthusiasm. Rather, it’s to better understand our impulses, our survival instincts, our anger, our sexuality, our inner courage, and the ways we go about getting what we want from life. The cosmos are asking us to look before we leap rather than throw ourselves into action, just for the time being.
Watch health more closely during this period. Symptoms may be harder to diagnose and may be psychosomatic. Concentrate your energies on reorganizing work or work centers. After April 13th, you will be better equipped to move forward on work projects and to establish new and improved health and fitness routines. From July 3-August 23, relationships heat up. Problem areas in current partnerships become insistent and can be dealt with hands-on. Single Aries might begin to pursue a relationship more heartily and with more confidence. From January 1 to June 11, 2012, money, personal possessions, and self-worth continue to expand and grow. Your desire for security and comfort is hearty now, and you’ll pursue these things with more confidence and verve. You feel that you deserve more!
February and March are especially strong for attracting more money from your professional endeavors and for expanding a business. You might also more easily attract support from others (but be careful if you are suddenly in the position to receive, for example, a credit line or sizeable loan – spend wisely). Money from self-employment for those of you in this position should be strong now. Your intuition is working for you especially strongly in February.
Towards the end of April and into the first week of May, your desire for freedom is very strong, and you should watch for overspending. Mid-May is strong for making big-ticket item purchases, if necessary.
Potential negatives: Is it really possible that more money could be negative? Yes, when the attitude towards money is careless. If you are accumulating personal possessions too quickly, this can lead to clutter and disorganization. If you’re overconfident about your ability to make money and to continue to do so, then you might take foolish risks, such as borrowing from your future.
From June 11th onward, your communications increase and expand. Your ability and desire to express yourself is greater now, and your personal interests grow.
Potential negatives: Taking on too many daily activities, communications, new interests, and learning endeavors or studies can be a problem now. Don’t overload your plate.
However, for the most part, you are likely to enjoy more opportunities through your communications and contact with others during this cycle in 2012. You are likely to make new friends and to feel more connected or part of a group this year. Until October 5th, the area of your life that requires a “back to basics” approach is the sector that rules close personal relationships, such as marriages and other committed partnerships, long-term associations, open enemies, negotiations, agreements, and contracts. This is a continuing trend from last year. There may be tests of sorts in these areas of life, as if the universe is checking that the foundations are strong. Things built on weak foundations may very well crack under the pressure of these tests. Those that are strong will endure and strengthen.
Tests can continue to come to close, long-term relationships in 2012. Most of you have already experienced this influence in 2010 and 2011. For those of you who are in committed partnerships, there can be some strains on your bond this year. A partner might feel like a “heavy” in your life, and any feelings of restriction that you feel or have felt in this area of life may seem magnified in your mind now. A partner might also seem cautious, distant, critical, or defensive.
