This year, Jupiter continues to transit earthy, sensual Taurus until June, and then moves through curious Gemini through to the end of the year. Electric Uranus continues to move through independent Aries. Serious Saturn continues its transit through Libra, the sign that rules one-to-one relationships, including marriage and business partnerships, and then enters passionate Scorpio in October. Neptune finally finishes its transit of Aquarius and enters Pisces in February. Pluto continues its slow journey through Capricorn. Both Venus and Mars turn retrograde in 2012 – Mars retrogrades in the sign of Virgo from January 23rd until April 13th, and Venus retrogrades in the sign of Gemini from May 15th to June 27th.
Saturn in Libra until October continues to bring a “meet me halfway” energy to relationships. Saturn will certainly bring tests to the foundations of partnerships, and those with weak foundations are challenged to strengthen them. In 2012, we’ll be wrapping these matters up. While Saturn and Uranus have passed their opposition, Uranus in Aries continues to emphasize the value of independence. These influences might have us wondering if we’re better off alone. Uranus and Pluto square each other twice in 2012, in June and September, and this can bring a strong feeling of pressure, especially to cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Saturn in Scorpio from October forward (until 2015) will challenge our feelings about intimacy, drawing up questions about whether we are connecting to others on a deep level. We might be more critical about the power dynamics and issues of control and sharing in our relationships.
While Jupiter is in Taurus until June, we continue to find joy in simplicity and stability. We value the here and now – what we have. We might find that we have more appreciation for what we already have, and this can be very strengthening for existing relationships, particularly if the emphasis is on the giving and receiving of pleasure. In March, we might also especially value relationships that keep us feeling free from want materially speaking, or that seem to be moving in that direction. Relationships themselves may be seen as a vehicle through which we can feel more secure spiritually speaking. Taurus and Capricorn are most directly affected by these influences. From June forward, we are likely to find joy in intellectual exchanges and in variety. We require more daily interaction and communication in our relationships.
Venus retrogrades in the sign of Gemini from May 15th to June 27th, bringing about a need to re-think or re-assess our personal relationships. Past lovers may re-appear and some relationships may end. Communication problems can be a hot topic. Old friends and lovers may re-appear, perhaps complicating current relationships. We are called upon to deal with relationship issues from the past. Events occur that seem fated or pre-destined. It can be a real challenge getting close to a lover during this period of time. Unorthodox, experimental, and non-intimate relationships may be favored. Those who have Gemini strong in their charts may be more introspective, distant, or hard to reach during this cycle. They may not be in a very favorable light just for the time being. It’s not the best period for entering into a new relationship, because our sensors when it comes to love are not up to par.
