Yearly Horoscope: 2006 Predictions for Virgo

Virgo (Born August 23 to September 2) – 0 to 10 degrees Virgo:

If you are not already attached, this year can present big opportunities for you to “partner” with someone special. Eclipses across your first and seventh solar houses suggest a strong focus on close personal relationships. Seeking out a partnership or perfecting the one you are in are on the agenda in 2006. Mind you, Uranus opposing your sign can most certainly mean you are attracting unusual or erratic partners–or that your relationship needs are met sporadically. Whatever the case may be, excitement and change are in store for you with regards to close personal relationships.

While Venus is retrograde in your sector of romance and speculation, from December 24, 2005 to February 3, 2006, do your best to avoid taking financial risks, making big purchases, or making commitments on social and romantic levels. Since Mercury is your sign ruler, Mercury retrograde periods will be especially important. While Mercury retrogrades in your sector of relationships from March 1-25, you may need to talk things over with your special someone. Don’t make any impulsive decisions about partnerships during this period. Mercury’s retrograde in July (from the 4th to 29th) affects your more impersonal relationships. The period from October 28-November 18th when Mercury is retrograde can point to communication problems of all kinds, so it would be a good idea to back up your computer, get your paperwork in order, and other such things before this period. You’re not thinking straight during these periods, and it’s wise to hold off on signing on the dotted line or making major decisions during these three cycles in the year.

With the exception of the periods noted above, however, you stand to come off very well in social relationships, and you could improve your communication skills significantly in 2006, thanks to Jupiter’s transit through your solar third house. You are especially mentally alert and busy this year, and opportunities to travel or simply move about can present themselves. You stand to widen your social circle, update your skills, communicate more effectively, read even more than you do now, advertise, publish, and write more this year.

You are at your most attractive when Venus aligns with your Sun (or Ascendant) mid-September, when Venus and Mars sextile your Sun and trine Uranus late October and early November, and when moves through your solar fifth house in the last three weeks of December. These are power times for attracting money, love, and pleasure into your life. Note that the October-November date coincides with retrograde Mercury, so a new love affair is not ideal during that power period–look to someone from the past or present.

This should prove to be an exciting, busy, and fruitful year. Your life seems to speed up in 2006, and as it does, you find that you lose some of your skepticism, cautiousness, and fear of taking risks. Virgo (Born September 3 to 12) – 10 to 20 degrees Virgo:

This year is an excellent period for sharpening your skills, growing your knowledge base, making contacts and connections, studies, training programs, and writing. Your mind is open and you are enthusiastic. Jupiter sextiling your Sun (or Ascendant) is a subtle influence in many ways, but the optimism that it generates helps you to attract positive circumstances into your life. Opportunities pop up that allow you to expand your personal influence. You feel proud this year–something that Virgo sometimes has a hard time feeling without worrying that he or she is going to mess up. You are bound to interact more with friends, make new ones, and enjoy their company more freely than usual. Opportunities to travel are very likely. At the very least, you can expect the unexpected and you may find yourself doing things that break your routine in 2006. You are restless, somewhat abrupt, and itching to feel, and to be, more independent.

Mercury is your ruling sign, and the three periods of its retrograde cycle should be considered. During these cycles, avoid pushing the envelope. Take the time to reflect on your life rather than forging forward and putting your foot in your mouth. These periods are: March 1-25, July 4-29, and October 28-November 18. The March period is especially meaningful to you, as it occupies your opposite sign, Pisces, and occurs near eclipses that affect your relationship sector. After the retrograde cycle finishes in March, you begin to feel energized and changes in your personal relationships leave your head spinning.

This is an especially sociable year, and with Neptune in quincunx to your Sun (or Ascendant) from your solar sixth house, you may have vague worries about your health, diet, regimes, and work. You’re not as focused on any of these things this year, and this could be the source of the worries that you’ve pushed to the back of your mind.

February finds you with increased recognition at work–or a bigger workload. It’s a good time to attract attention, make a purchase, and to take a few educated risks. The first half of May is a potent one for you, particularly if you were born September 4-8. A grand trine between Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus affects your social sectors, and dramatic opportunities arise that put you right “out there”. August is a big month for you in terms of physical vitality. Mars energizes your Sun (or Ascendant), keeping you on your toes and extremely active. The second half of September is a power period for you on an attraction level. You look good, feel good, and are better able to attract who and what you want. November is an especially sociable month, particularly the first two weeks, but you should be cautious about undertaking new initiatives during this period. Virgo (Born September 13 to 23) – 20 to 30 degrees Virgo:

Pluto, the planet of transformation, forms a square to your Sun (or Ascendant) this year, affecting those born September 16th to 20th most acutely. Those born September 13-15 went through this influence last year, and those born September 21-23 will experience it in 2007. This year-long transit makes you feel like you are not getting what you want. You are perhaps too attached to your own agenda, and power struggles with others result from this tight-hold. The only way to ease the tension is to try your best to let go of that which you are holding onto with tight fists. It could be a way of life, the way you want your relationship to go, the way you want to run your household, the manner in which you want to do your work. Whatever it is, Pluto is telling you that it’s time to let go of some of your power. Jealousy or possessiveness stems from your own feeling of vulnerability and an overpowering need to make your life as stable and secure as you can. Unfortunately, the stronger you hold on, the weaker it becomes. If you have a stranglehold on your mate, for example, your fear of losing him or her could easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This year, your passions become acute. You may be more sexual than usual and/or you discover a deep-seated ambition that you didn’t know you had. This is an excellent year for you to get in touch with yourself–what you truly want from life, what childhood conditioning issues are damaging you or holding you back, and just how much power and strength you possess. Self-improvement is the name of the game in 2006. If others find you a little too self-absorbed, they’re probably right, but if they are patient with you, they’ll see you emerge a brand new, largely more confident person before year’s end. In fact, when Jupiter enters your solar third house in November, you are ready to come out of your shell. You are more lighthearted and sociable at this time, perhaps in stark contrast to the earlier portion of the year. At the same time, Saturn moves out of your solar eleventh house.
