Leo (Born July 23 to August 2) – 0 to 10 degrees Leo:

A balancing act is going on between your urge to splurge and your sense of responsibility. Saturn has been putting the brakes on you, slowing you down, and making you feel your age–or perhaps older! It will continue to do so until July, after which you will feel considerably more free. However, the first half of the year needn’t be boring. You are working on getting your life in order–maturing, if you will.

Your need for recognition and appreciation from others is at an all-time high during this period, and perhaps it is too high. In other words, you can be over-sensitive when the people around you don’t seem to appreciate you. Try not to let this discourage you, and remember that it’s likely due to an increased need to be recognized that stems from within you. You may have to deal with added responsibilities, or the ones you have could feel more weighty than usual.

While Saturn conjuncts your Sun (or Ascendant), Uranus moves into your solar eighth house and throws you a few curve balls. Close partners suddenly seem unreliable, quirky, and downright irresponsible. You need to keep your eye on shared resources this year. While you may have a good handle on your own finances, you might find that others are either asking for financial support or their mishandling of money is affecting your life considerably.

June and the first half of July can be especially challenging for you as Jupiter squares your Sun and Mars and Saturn align in Leo. Whatever responsibilities or realizations that present themselves now are temporary. You begin to breathe a sigh of relief mid-year as Saturn moves past your Sun (or Ascendant). Jupiter moves through your solar fourth house of family, roots, and the home.

This can mean a real boost from family members, a new addition to your family, the urge to expand, re-decorate, and build your home and domestic life, or the beginning of a new, long-term project or business venture. Your living conditions are apt to improve this year, and you could find yourself feeling very proud of your family and home. If you do decide to change residence or to invest in new additions to your home, avoid doing so while Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio, from October 28th to November 18th.

Close relationships, including marriage (or long-term) partnerships as well as business partnerships, can be tricky this year. Although Neptune has passed its opposition to your Sun, it remains in your solar seventh, casting a bit of a veil over your relationships. Your partners may seem elusive and not especially goal-oriented, which can be frustrating.

Chiron is opposing your Sun (or Ascendant) as well, suggesting that someone important in your life is causing you some emotional pain or confusion. You may not feel very much in control in terms of relationships during this period, but you have the opportunity to get in touch with what it is you actually need and want in your partnerships through your experiences with confusing or unexpected circumstances.

You are at your most attractive in mid-August, when Venus and Mercury align with your Sun (or Ascendant). Saturn moving away from your sign definitely helps boost your overall mood, manner, and attitude as well. A happier “you” is projected, which cannot hurt your ability to attract positive circumstances. Another period when you are especially able to attract fun and pleasure is the second half of November, when Venus enters your solar fifth house and trines your Sun.

Leo (Born August 3 to 12) – 10 to 20 degrees Leo:

This year, what you are projecting and what you are attracting are at odds with one another. As Saturn works its way to conjunct your Sun (or Ascendant) mid-year, your attitude shifts to a more responsible, practical one. At the same time, the important people in your life seem elusive, confused, directionless, and possibly irresponsible. This contrast is most marked mid-year, at the peak of Saturn’s transit. The reason for this is an opposition between Saturn on your Sun and Neptune on your solar seventh house of relationships.

Jupiter is moving into your solar fourth house of home, family, security, and roots. This influence is a positive, expansive one, but it won’t feel that way until Jupiter passes its square to your Sun by October. In the last few months of the year, you may begin a new, long-term initiative–perhaps a project or business venture–that will benefit you in the years to come. You may have a strong desire to expand your family or your home. Projects or purchases designed to do so should be avoided while Mercury is retrograde in your solar fourth house, however, from October 28th to November 18th, after which you can safely forge ahead.

With eclipses affecting your solar second and eighth houses, your finances get some attention this year. Issues surrounding what you own and how the finances of other important people in your life affect you come to light. You may be hit up for a loan, for example, or your partner’s spending habits become an issue. With the North Node transiting through your solar eighth house, you’re learning about sharing your resources (which can include money, possessions, your time, and your energy) with others this year.

You are at your most attractive when Venus is in mid-Sagittarius (the last week of November until mid-December), trining your Sun (or Ascendant), and moving through your solar fifth house of romance, pleasure, and self-expression.

Leo (Born August 13 to 22) – 20 to 30 degrees Leo:

The big news of the year is Pluto’s transiting trine to your Sun (or Ascendant) from your solar fifth house. This is an empowering influence. You experience a distinct shift in your attitude towards pleasure-seeking activities in your life. For those born from August 13th to 17th, this influence began last year and continues in 2006. If born after that date, the influence is a new one. Superficial romances simply don’t satisfy you any longer, as you seek more intimacy.

The trine to your Sun infuses you with strength of mind, quiet confidence, and strategic ability. You may not have to work hard right now to earn other’s respect or to receive advancements and other favors on the job. If things are coming easy to you, the only real problem here is the possibility of feeling so comfortable that you pass by opportunities. Identify them and seize them. Success is very possible under this long-term influence. You may meet an important contact whose influence subtly but significantly changes the course of your life for the better.
