Sun parallel Moon
When the Sun is parallel the Moon in the Natal Chart
You have personal presence, and more easily than most receive recognition for your efforts and talents. You tend to be decisive, and sometimes quite one-track minded. It’s easy for you to come together with others and form long-lasting relationships.
However, at times you are focused more on your own needs and might resist compromise, especially if the Sun is also conjunct the Moon. When just the parallel occurs between the luminaries (the Sun and the Moon), the personality is more compromising and agreeable. You can be quite attached to family and might closely resemble a parent. You tend to work on impulse rather than carefully thought-out plans.
This aspect adds a distinctly warm and comfortable layer to the personality that boosts your charisma.

What is a parallel?
Planets with the same or near-same declination are parallel to each other. Astrologers usually apply an orb or allowance of 1 degree for the parallel and contra-parallel. While a conjunction is an alignment in zodiacal longitude, the parallel is an alignment in the positions North or South of the celestial equator.
An example declination value is 12 N 47, or 20 S 24. A declination of zero degrees means the body is on the celestial equator.
For instance, if the Sun is at 15 N 30 and the Moon is at 16 N 19, they are said to be parallel, as they are within a 1-degree orb of alignment. Parallels occur between planets and points that are both North or both South. If, in this example, the Moon were at 16 S 19, the Sun and Moon would be considered contra-parallel (or antiparallel).
Note that the parallel often accompanies the conjunction, strengthening the combination greatly. However, it also occurs in the absence of the conjunction, especially so with the Sun and Moon, and can thus be a somewhat hidden influence when assessing a chart, but once discovered, its influence is usually undeniable.
Interpreting a parallel versus a conjunction: Both aspects represent a joining of forces of the energies of the planets or points in alignment. However, while the conjunction is a blend, the parallel is more of a partnership.
