Mercury heads into the sign of Libra today. With Mercury visiting Libra until October 6th, we are diplomatic and friendly, bringing a more rational approach to one-to-one relationships. It’s a good time to think about improving our negotiation skills.

Mercury in Libra can be a vacillating energy as we attempt to see both sides of any situation. While we can undoubtedly be indecisive, this is a fine period for considering others’ points of view. We benefit and prosper through communicating more effectively and diplomatically, mediating, and negotiating or compromising.

In fact, we might frequently think about ways to harmonize and live/interact more peacefully. Generally in favor during this cycle are counseling, partnering, editing, and public relations. Our approach and thinking are moderate — we avoid extremes of opinion, preferring to be fair to all parties involved.

The Venus-Saturn quincunx and Sun-Chiron quincunx transits can leave us feeling torn between different desires, situations, or viewpoints. The dilemma could be between pleasure and responsibility, and we could feel not fully able to appreciate or deal with either.

Some wavering of confidence is possible. We may doubt our inner guide and face situations that seem to test our vulnerabilities. We can also experience guilt about not dealing with problems head-on. However, our attempts to manage doubt and guilt today can help clear the path for opportunities.

Mercury opposes Neptune this evening and then heads toward a trine to Uranus and then Pluto.

Mercury’s opposition to Neptune can obscure our viewpoint. We may vacillate between two very different visions of a matter when the truth is likely somewhere in between. Discrepancies that challenge our thinking can emerge, and concentrating on technical facts can be difficult. We could find ourselves on a mental teeter-totter, see-sawing between fact and fiction! If our minds wander now, it may be that we’ve recently neglected to feed our imaginations.

During this transit, we should be mindful of misrepresenting ourselves, overlooking critical practical details, and self-defeating thoughts. However, this can be a good opportunity to stretch our thinking and consider possibilities we might overlook on a regular day.

As the day advances, however, our resolve and concentration strengthen. We gravitate to looking for truths and unexplored topics and ideas. It can be a time to gain a deeper understanding of a matter. Our mental faculties are attuned to otherworldly impressions, offering us increased insight, psychological understanding and awareness, as well as focused attention.

We might discover new information that gives us an edge or finally “see” the truth of a matter we’ve been avoiding. It’s an excellent time to let go of something that has kept us bound to negative elements of the past. We’re expressing ourselves in different or unique ways rather than falling back on old habits of thinking and communicating, and it’s successful.

Conversations can be gently provocative, leading to new ideas and perspectives. Insights or creative ideas come suddenly, unexpectedly, and brilliantly.
