The New Moon occurs today at 11:50 PM EDT in the sign of Libra, and it’s a powerful time to rebalance our relationships and recognize our partners as teammates rather than adversaries.

With this potent Libra energy, we have the chance to make valuable changes in our lives. We’re learning to make peace with others and establish a sense of order and balance in our lives.

Peace and harmony are the goals, but a delicate balancing act is involved along the way that requires some commitment and effort, especially with a Venus-Mars square also active now and complicating things.

This New Moon brings fresh and creative energy into our lives, especially our relationships. It’s a cycle in which balancing our close personal relationships becomes an urgent desire.

Because this lunation occurs around a Venus-Mars square, we should watch for excess and impulsiveness. However, we do need a fresh start.

Retrograde Venus forms a square with Mars today, and there can certainly be some fireworks.

This transit can awaken buried urges and desires, some of which may only be whims or distractions. We might also reawaken uncomfortable topics from the past.

Disagreements are possible, with differences and contrasts standing out more than usual. There can be a real discrepancy between values and desires, and passions run high. We might stir up problems to fulfill a need for excitement. We can be temperamental and sensitive.

A passive or soft approach may irritate, but an aggressive approach can be grating, as well. Timing is off. Our romantic sensibilities and our desires are at odds with one another, and problems (especially misunderstandings) in relationships are possible.

Impulsive decisions affect our finances and/or established relationships, and it’s best to be wary of making impulse purchases and relationship decisions under these conditions.

We should consider that disagreements may only be surface conflict as we temporarily see things differently. There is an air of competitiveness with this influence that can be challenging and/or refreshing, even invigorating. In fact, discomfort with the status quo can lead to highly creative workarounds and improvements.
