The Sun enters independent, pioneering Aries at 10:46 AM EDT today, marking the time of the Spring equinox and the start of the astrological New Year. The Sun will transit Aries until April 19th.

In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous, and during this cycle, we are motivated by the desire to initiate, conquer, and innovate. We are impulsive, and we want to come first.

Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little pause for regret with Aries. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan during this cycle.

While it’s an enthusiastic influence, Mercury’s station today can mean we’re off to a slow start. However, because Mercury is ending its retrograde now, we can look forward to the unblocking of information. Mercury has been retrograde since February 26th.

With the planet of communication switching gears, the shift itself can point to some disorientation and crossed wires today, but in the coming days and weeks, problems with communication and decision-making we may have encountered during Mercury’s retrograde cycle will clear up. We’ll be able to apply our observations and new perspective to our lives as we advance.

We could feel flooded with energies that are hard to make sense of today, so we might avoid important decision-making for the time being while our thinking is skewed and illogical temporarily. It’s a better day to take in rather than take action.
