The Sun enters pioneering Aries today at 5:02 AM EDT, marking the time of the Spring equinox and the start of the astrological New Year. The Sun will transit Aries until April 19th.

In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are impulsive, and we want to initiate, come first, and innovate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly–there is little pause for regret with Aries. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan during this cycle.

The Moon spends the day in the sign of Sagittarius, inspiring us to seek knowledge and experience. This Moon transit is exploratory, philosophical, and spontaneous. We should be careful not to commit to something for which we don’t yet have the resources and remind ourselves to be aware of our potential for over-optimism.

Otherwise, a Moon-Mercury connection helps us find common ground and open up the lines of communication. We’re enjoying more honesty now.
