The Sun forms a quincunx with Jupiter today, and we can feel torn between two ideas or drives, perhaps see-sawing between alternatives. It can be challenging to arrive at satisfying conclusions. It’s a time of adjustments and letting go of old habits to free ourselves up for different experiences.

As the day advances, a Mars-Pluto opposition comes into strong influence. This aspect first formed on November 3rd before Mars turned retrograde and will recur on April 26th when Mars is direct. We may be returning to a dilemma.

While tense and disruptive, this transit can be revealing. Pushiness tends to meet with stubborn resistance–there may be a contest of wills now. There can be a feeling that external circumstances are undermining our personal power. As we deal with these things, we may get in touch with our internal motivations. Outside forces can remind us of our need to take better charge of our lives, but shortcuts to gaining control will not work as we’d like.

This transit can bring a tricky or buried issue to a head. It would be wise to observe whatever powerful feelings that confrontations or conflicts stir under this influence, as this transit has a way of pulling out suppressed matter or emotional “slush.” All in all, frustrated energy may lead to a greater understanding if we play our cards right.

Venus enters the sign of Pisces today, where it will transit until February 4th. It will return to Pisces soon after, from March 27-April 30, 2025. This unusual pattern is due to an upcoming Venus retrograde cycle that’s divided between the signs of Aries and Pisces from March 1st to April 12th, 2025.

Venus in Pisces is tender and affectionate, although hard to reach, as there is a longing for something difficult to define and satisfy. Borders and boundaries blur under Venus in Pisces. The shadow side of this position is allowing ourselves to be deceived because we want to believe. Evasiveness can also be a problem, and we should watch for avoidant or indirect behavior.

Still, Venus is exalted in Pisces and does well in the sign. It’s devoted, compassionate, exceptionally giving, and capable of sacrifice. We might rely heavily on our intuition with our finances and love life during this cycle. We gravitate to–and appreciate–unusual, tossed aside, poetic, artistic objects, situations, and people. We seek activities that move, inspire, or touch us.
