The Sun this Month: Central Focus, Consciousness

Until October 13th:

The Sun continues to spotlight your solar sixth house. This is a busy period that finds you tending to many different details of your daily existence--your work, various projects, organization around the home and office, your daily routines, and health matters. Your ego may be especially tied up in the work you do, so that you are proud and more creative than usual in your job. You may be in the position to take charge in your work, or to take charge of your health and diet. Sometimes this cycle relates to increased activities involving pets. You seek to perfect your skills or methods now, and you focus on the parts that make up the whole now in order to improve your daily life. As a result, you can be more critical than usual, but this process is necessary for you to sort out what works for you and what doesn't.

From October 13th forward:

The Sun illuminates your seventh house. At this time of year, you have a greater need than usual to be with a partner. Bouncing ideas off someone helps you to better understand yourself. A partner provides a mirror for your own self-discovery. Now is the time to realize your own potential through a significant other. During this cycle, you focus on balancing your personal interests and objectives with your social life, or with those of a partner. The emphasis is on "us" rather than "me".

You need the energies, companionship, and support of other people, and they may also seek out your support and companionship. It's important to include others rather than to go solo for the time being. However, bending too much to the will of another is not advised either. Social interactions of a personal, one-on-one kind are emphasized. Circumstances are such that your diplomacy skills are required. Your popularity is increasing, and is reinforced by your own ability to cooperate and harmonize. Your ego and pride are tied up in how you relate to others now. This may be an especially busy time for people who consult or work with clients one-on-one.

Venus this Month: Love, Romance, Social Life, Comfort

Venus is retrograde from October 5th to November 16th Venus retrograde in general: As the planet of love and values, Venus retrograde periods are periods during which we re-assess what--and who--we value. It is a period that most astrologers consider inopportune for getting married or starting a new relationship. Major financial undertakings are not advised during this period as well. Venus retrograde cycles are good times for creating budgets and financial plans, and for re-thinking our personal relationships. Old friends and lovers may re-appear, perhaps complicating current relationships. We are called upon to deal with relationship issues from the past. Events occur that seem fated or predestined. It can be a real challenge getting close to a lover during this period of time. Unorthodox, experimental, and non-intimate relationships may be favored. Relationships that have been especially challenging may come to an end during this cycle. However, strong relationships will survive it, even if there are a few bumps and bruises along the way. For singles, this is a good time for "eyes wide open" or experimental dating. It is not a time when people recognize the need for another person to complete them, or some people may be questioning whether they are with partners who actually fulfill them. This period is good for re-evaluating our relationship needs; but, again, major love decisions are best saved for after the cycle ends.This Venus Retrograde cycle occurs for the most part in your seventh house of one-to-one partnerships. Misunderstandings with your partner now can be troublesome. If you need to talk through problems, do your best to be as non-judgmental as possible, and don't overreact to what your partner has to say either. A close partner could be distant emotionally, or a partnership can appear stalled for the time being - something is up in the air. However, this is a good time to take a breather and to get in better touch with your feelings on a matter - you need this!

As well, Venus rules your partnership and income sectors, and both of these things may come up for review during this retrograde cycle.

Mercury this Month: Communications, Learning, Connections, Transportation

Until the 3rd: 

Mercury continues to transit your solar sixth house. This is an excellent cycle for improving your skills, objectively identifying your weaknesses so that you can work on them, and for finding flaws in your work methods or approach to daily activities so that you can make necessary changes.

You might be especially focused on list-making and to-do lists, as well as organizing things around you. The need to communicate about your work, health, and other daily affairs, or with co-workers, is especially strong now. Negative expression of this position is worrying about sixth house matters (work, health, pets, and so forth) rather than finding ways to improve these things.

From October 3-23: 

Mercury transits your solar seventh house. You tend to weigh the pros and cons of every issue during this cycle, taking into account others' needs as well as your own. Some indecisiveness is possible now, simply because you naturally entertain opposing viewpoints. You have a strong desire to cooperate and communicate with others now. You feel most comfortable spending time with people on a one-to-one level, or with those with whom you share a personal history.

Interestingly, your own thoughts become clearer through dialogue with others during this window. You may be doing public relations work, counseling, negotiating, or arbitration during this cycle. There is a lot of emphasis on communications with partners and best friends at this time. You can use the power of words to advise others or to make peace with people in your life. You are more diplomatic than usual during this transit.

From October 23rd forward: 

Mercury transits your solar eighth house. You are more intuitive now than usual, picking up all of the hidden cues from people around you and reading between the lines. This is an excellent cycle in which to do some financial planning and strategizing.

Research is also highly favored. It's easier for you to approach sensitive, intimate, and personal matters with rationality and logic. As such, this is a great time to open up conversations about topics that normally might cause waves, such as those revolving around the sharing of power, intimacy, and finances.

Mars this Month: Energy, Drive, Courage

Until the 30th:

Mars continues to energize your solar tenth house now. You bring much energy, enthusiasm, and drive to your career or to directing activities in your life during this cycle. You may be quite competitive during this period, preferring to achieve and accomplish things on your own. This attitude can, in some cases, be seen by others as an instigating or otherwise offensive energy, so be aware of that possibility.

This is a strong time for directly pursuing your goals, and, if you need that extra push or oomph to get a plan going, particularly a professional one, or to assert your desires, then this is the time. You are self-motivated, and your enthusiasm can be harnessed if you so choose.

From October 30th forward:

Mars is energizing your solar eleventh house now. Group activities and cooperative efforts are the best way to achieve your goals right now. In fact, you have all sorts of ideas about what you want to do. Avoid allowing the ego to attempt to dominate others. You prefer to lead a group rather than follow during this period, and there are certainly ways to do so without stepping on others' toes.

As well, the best way to achieve your goals during this period is to work as a team, or to at least to do some networking. You may have more energy than usual to want to organize projects. Your humanitarian impulse may be stimulated. The role you play for other people in your life becomes the focus. You may feel that your schedule gets overloaded at this time with things to do (usually for others).

October 2018 Monthly Horoscope Summary for Aries: Relationships are a major focus this month, dear Aries. All inner planets are in relationship sectors in your solar chart this month, although some are in your intimacy sector and this can boost your relationship with yourself just as much as an intimate connection. Mind you, Venus, the goddess of love, is retrograde from the 5th forward, and complications are likely. You may be rethinking your needs or those of a partner and dealing with debts from the past, too, since Venus spends most of October in your sector of shared resources. Take your time and don't push matters. Go over your finances carefully, get counsel if needed, and avoid disputes over money. Fortunately, you're likely to have some help. Recognizing the need for others is essential now, but avoid taking this point to dependency levels, especially given that Venus is retrograde and people can be a little distant emotionally.

One of the best news for you in October is about Mars, your ruler, as it's picking up the pace and getting back to its usual speed. This transit helps move things along after sluggish months and gives you at least the sense that things are moving ahead, even if retrograde Venus brings with it some delays. Your social life may have been on the dull side in recent months, and while the withdrawal or lack has not been a terrible experience for you, the liveliness that October and November bring to friendships may be quite welcome. Watch, however, for the drama level to rise too high, particularly with Venus' charm and people skills not working up to par. The tendency to push too hard or for social blunders is particularly strong around the 10th and 19th. If current relationships are not satisfying your deeper needs, there can be reactions now.

The New Moon the 8th is about a fresh start in a partnership or meaningful friendship. Alternatively, it's about better understanding your relationship needs and taking charge of this area of your life.

While it's not necessarily a time to sweep matters under the rug, some care should be taken with all love matters this month, particularly those surrounding shared finances and intimacy with Venus retrograde in your intimacy sector in October and then from November 1st to 16th, in your partnership sector. October is a good month for redesigning your budget, but it's not reliable for making big purchases. You could easily regret your purchases or relationship commitments later, so take the time to think about things before you leap forward. There can be upheaval or tensions related to money, possessions, or intimacy this month. A conversation may occur with a love interest or partner, but be aware that it can quickly spiral into unproductive patterns. Or, a conversation with a love from your past can be sparked up this month. If you receive further information about a past relationship, this can be eye-opening and help with closure. Even if things get nowhere or seem to go backward, it's a necessary process for illuminating where you stand and what you will take forward with you into the future. A bit of detachment can help you. While you can feel a little in the dark about your feelings until the 25th, after this date, new awareness and possibly the beginnings of a plan of action emerges. Intimate relationships can benefit from a fresh start or vision as you have recently redefined what you want and need from others, as well as what you expect from yourself.

The Full Moon on the 24th can serve as a wake-up call about taking charge of your finances.

This is a time for facing fears and breaking through taboos and can be a great time for receiving support or getting help. You might experience a release from a private burden or a debilitating secret.
