Major Love Trends in 2012: Libra Love Horoscope

As mentioned in your Yearly Horoscope Overview, dear Libra, the second half of 2012 is likely to find you more outgoing. The first half of the year brings some matters from the past to your attention, and you may be a little withdrawn as you tend to them.

Saturn has been visiting your sign since 2009, and in 2012, this rather strict and sobering energy leaves you. This happens in October. Before then, you continue to be less spontaneous, sociable, and open. You are very busy building strength and balance in your life, and the work that you do on these matters will serve you very well in the future. Jupiter’s presence in your intimacy sector until June does help out a lot – there is a stronger feeling of being supported by others than was the case in the last couple of years.

Mars is the ruler of your partnership sector, and is retrograde from January 23-April 13. This period can bring some complications in your relationships to the surface, particularly since Mars is visiting your privacy sector. You could be dealing with keeping secrets, making sacrifices, and some of you will be feeling a little stuck in the past when it comes to relationships. Slowly but surely, these matters straighten out from April 13-July 3, although Venus (your ruler) turns retrograde on May 15 until June 27, and this can put you on the fence. July 3rd brings Mars into your sign and symbolically out of “hiding”. Confidence returns with great force. A partnership may begin or pick up speed, and certainly is clearer. A partner seems to be on your side now. This cycle lasts until August 23. With Mars in your sign and Venus no longer retrograde, you are clearer and your love life becomes markedly clearer as well. Adding further to the theme of “coming into your own”, Jupiter is now transiting fellow Air sign, Gemini, and this helps you to look past daily stresses and inconveniences and to meet the world with more hope, faith, and optimism. Saturn leaves your sign in October, further lightening your load. All of these factors contribute to a sense that your year gets better and better as it progresses.

Uranus continues its long transit of your partnership sector, and this does point to some relationship ups and downs. With the ruler of your romance sector in your partnership sector, however, romantic partners or casual love affairs move away from casual and become more like close partnerships. Some of you will be taking a casual affair to a whole new level, but the rules for this partnership need to be flexible or the relationship is unlikely to survive.

Key Periods in 2012:

January 1-14 is a playful, lighthearted, and magnetic period for love, particularly for casual love affairs. Your powers of attraction run high. Love comes to you rather than your having to pursue it.

From January 23-April 13, your partnership ruler, Mars, is retrograde, signaling a period of introspection and reflection for a partner, when a partner might be giving out confusing signals. Venus in your partnership sector from February 8-March 5, however, can help soften the rough edges and bring love into your life, even if it is complicated at this time.

Eros, the god of erotic love, is in your sign from May 23-July 20. Your powers of attraction run very high during this cycle, but more in terms of you going after what you want than waiting for things to come to you. Sexual activity may be more frequent than usual. An impassioned attitude in general is with you. Mars occupies your sign from July 3-August 23. Especially during the intersection of these dates (from July 3-20), your animal magnetism is very strong. You tend to go after what you want without apology.

Venus is in your sign from October 28-November 22. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests.
