2011: Virgo Horoscope: Love, Career, & General Trends
2011 Overview for all Virgos. 2011 is likely to be a more settled year for you emotionally, dear Virgo. From January to June, emotional and/or financial support is likely to be more forthcoming. However, there is a possibility that a reduction in personal income (or perception that you don’t have enough) can lead you to seek out more support from outside sources. Be as patient as you can when it comes to money in 2011. Think twice about taking on new expenses and new debts. Consider whether they’re truly worth the added worry! Gear up your mindset to consider the long term. Over the coming years, you’ll be learning much about financial independence. From June forward, consider beefing up your education, or possibly expanding your experiences through travel. Your spirit now is quite adventuresome. You can enjoy a more positive, forward-looking outlook on life. Less concern about problems that typically would have you worrying is likely during this cycle. You deserve it! In recent years, the status quo has been blown out of the water when it comes to partnering. You’ve likely experienced experimental or alternative ways of relating, whether this was voluntary or not. This long-term influence leaves your life in March, and you are now in the position to process the lessons you’ve been learning about what you truly want from a partnership. Love continues to stir intense feelings in you this year. Your view of relationships is evolving. You also benefit from living your life according to your own values, not simply reacting to what others are (or aren’t) throwing your way. Rebelling can, eventually, lead you back to yourself with greater understanding, and this is “where you are at” now. In recent years, work has been a little muddled. Schedules have been more challenging to keep. The reason for this has been Neptune’s influence on your work and health sector, and this year, Neptune begins its move out of that sector. More clarity and purpose will slowly but surely come to you in this area of life in 2011 and 2012. As a Virgo, you can sometimes find it difficult to give yourself enough credit or value. This year, use the power of Pluto to learn to love and value yourself more. In previous years, Pluto was in a sign that was incompatible to yours, and this has served to magnify some of your own insecurities. Now that Pluto is harmonizing with your sign, harness its power to heal and strengthen by ridding yourself of attitudes and habits that make you feel less powerful.
Jupiter entering Aries on January 22nd puts this planet of growth and expansion in your solar eighth house. From January 22nd until June 4th, you may see benefits in any of the areas ruled by the eighth house–joint finances, shared resources, loans, taxes, sexuality, intimacy, healing, personal transformation, research, investigation, and psychological matters. This is a time of increased psychological understanding, intimacy, and perhaps accumulation of wealth if you manage your resources well. This is an excellent time to work on financial planning and strategy. You are more capable of helping friends and loved ones who are dealing with a crisis–you can be leaned upon. Your ability to understand and accept anything that is deep in meaning or significant is enhanced now, and you instinctively realize that the path to inner healing is to face your fears. In-depth study or research can be enjoyable, helpful, and possibly profitable. In some cases, a significant tax refund, inheritance, or other such benefit might arrive during this transit. Financial gains may come through a partnership or there may be an increase in a spouse’s income. Alternatively, there can be some extravagance in a partner’s spending. Sexual opportunities are likely to abound, or your focus on one partner becomes more expansive, warm, and intimate. This could be a time of purging yourself of literal or psychic “junk”, as there is a sense that de-cluttering your life will be beneficial to your emotional well-being. Benefit can come through jointly held resources, loans, or taxes. These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life.
From June 4th forward, Jupiter is moving through your solar ninth house. Under this influence, you may have opportunities to travel, study, go abroad, expand your horizons, and meet people who are of diverse backgrounds. You might become more intellectually curious now, and academic pursuits are likely to benefit you and run smoothly during this cycle. Business dealings, particularly long-distance ones and those involving publicity and promotion, are likely to be profitable now. Legal matters might also work in your favor, or long-standing legal problems might now be ironed out. Some of you will be seeking legal advice and find it especially helpful now. A more faithful attitude towards life in general is likely now–you tend to feel that everything will work out in the end. Authors might get published now, receive good reviews, or they could significantly expand their audience. Travel is quite possible now, whether it’s business or personal. Educational and travel opportunities expand your horizons. Teaching and learning are favored now. Writing and studying flow more naturally now. This is also an excellent period for positive dealings with in-laws! Your mind is more expansive and tolerant, and you are under less stress than usual. You are less inclined to sweat the small stuff. These positive circumstances won’t necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life. Watch for a tendency towards a “holier than thou” attitude.
The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar ninth house, from June 4th to August 30th, and then from December 25th forward. (This transit lasts until June 2012).
Jupiter transits trine your Sun from June 4th forward, making it an excellent time to start new long-term projects. You might find that you feel subtly more vital, confident, and optimistic about the future at this time. It’s a good time to resolve conflicts, as you are not as easily angered by trivial matters, and domestic matters can run smoothly and happily.
Saturn transits your solar second house again this year, urging you to take stock of your effectiveness, self-worth, and finances. This stage of your life may involve hard work, but not necessarily of an unpleasant variety! Financial success is generally steady, if slow to come by. This transit has traditionally been associated with financial loss, but in truth, it is more about our perceptionsyou are likely to review how effective you have been on a financial level to date, and find some dissatisfaction with your progress. In fact, gains may be slow, but sudden reversals are not common with this transit. The purpose of this transit is for you to make the connection between your own feelings of self-worth and what you produce in the real world/get back from the real world. In recent years, you may have had some feelings of being unsupported (you may have been thinking, “I work so hard, and what do I get for all this hard work?”), but as the transit moves forward, you learn to look inside of yourself with a newfound clarity and realism and ideally draw up considerable strength from within. You work on your effectiveness in the world, and see exactly what has been holding you back from achieving the results you want. The challenge here is to capture the newly found and defined self-confidence you gained while Saturn was in Virgo, and now apply it in the real world.
For those of you born August 23-31 and those with a Virgo Ascendant of 0-8 degrees, Pluto is in your solar fifth house this year. This extremely long-term transit brings gradual but deep changes in attitude towards love affairs, creativity, hobbies, recreation, children, and entertainment.
For those of you born August 28-31 and those with an Ascendant of 5-8 degrees Virgo, Pluto trines your Sun/Ascendant, and you are bound to have an uplifting, transforming year. You could take up some form of physical or health program that completely changes the way you feel about yourself. The things that give you joy and positive feedback figure prominently this year, and you feel renewed and regenerated. You also feel particularly strong and personally powerful. There is no such thing as playing the victim this year–you’re the victor and you feel it. You enjoy an increased ability to concentrate and focus on what really matters to you. Living authentically is what this year is all about. You are also learning to “own” your creative voice and the style in which you communicate, becoming less reticent about expressing yourself in creative ways, as well as communicating your ideas and perspectives. For some of you, the lines of communication are opening up with your own children. This is a potentially empowering time in your life when your personality is more vibrant, magnetic, focused, and resolute. You might take up a pleasantly consuming new hobby, line of work, or interest now. You might also begin a new health program (body, mind, or spirit) that improves your outlook on life. You might kick a bad habit or rid yourself of undesirable attitudes that have, in the past, held you back from success.
For those of you born August 23-28, and those with a Virgo Ascendant of 0-5 degrees, Uranus begins or continues its lengthy transit of your solar eighth house. There could be some ambiguities or unexpected happenings surrounding money that are part of your life but that don’t originate from your own income. This includes such things as shared resources with a close partner, alimony, taxes, loans, and so forth. At times, this could throw you off balance. This position could also indicate a period of uncertainty surrounding your intimate relationships, and/or some experimentation with your sexuality.
For those of you born August 29-September 2, Uranus continues to transit your solar seventh house. Close relationships may have received a shake-down in recent years, and you may have felt that it’s been hard to truly rely on a partner. Lifeless or outworn relationships may have been especially hard to bear for you. Some trial and error in relationships is par for the course with Uranus in this sector of your chart. This year, more changes in your view of partnerships are in store, but these matters are not as pressing as they were when Uranus opposed your Sun.
The influence of Neptune is similar to last year for most of you. Neptune continues to transit your solar sixth house, as it has been doing for a number of years. You are more susceptible to medications, chemicals, and other such things during this long-term cycle, so keep this in mind. Stress more easily affects your health as well. Some confusion on the job may have been part of the picture, or your job may have steered towards compassionate service, charity, or other helping professions. Although Virgos are known for their ability to stick to schedules, Neptune’s presence here has made it more challenging to do so. However, for those born August 23-24 (or 0-1 degrees Virgo Ascendant), Neptune begins its transit of your solar seventh house and opposes your Sun/Ascendant this year, casting some “fog” over your partnerships. You may be meeting evasiveness in a partner or potential mates. A more accepting or spiritual approach to partnerships is what you are moving towards, but there can be some confusion and possibly disillusionment in the process. It can be hard to pin down a partner to a solid commitment. Or, you may begin to attract Neptunian people into your life–at best, they can be compassionate, artistic, or spiritual types. At the other end of the spectrum, they can be elusive, evasive, or downright deceptive. You could struggle somewhat with your own expectations in partnerships. Self-deception may very well be in play, and when others don’t quite measure up to their expectations, disappointments occur. Do your best to see people for who they are rather than what you’d really like them to be. Your own goals could be confusing, and your energy levels could swing quite dramatically at times, perhaps reflecting this inner confusion. A more spiritual approach to your life is in order, and this Neptune transit calls upon you to detach yourself from some of your more worldly and materialistic goals.
Eclipses in 2011 fall in your solar fifth and eleventh houses and fourth and tenth houses this year. You will be learning about letting go of your attachment to the drama of romance and personal relationships, as well as your willfulness. You are called upon to learn about the value of the team. You may need to give freedom to your romantic partner instead of expecting him or her to follow a script of your own making. You learn the value of brotherly love and the benefits of a sense of belonging to a community. Events are such that you move towards a more objective approach to your life and you cultivate true friendships. A romantic affair may undergo deep, rewarding changes. If love is true, there’s nothing to fear. The demands of your larger goals in life may have been eclipsing your pleasure-seeking activities. Also possible, your children may be going through their own changes and “stages”, and need more attention now. Additionally, it’s time to take steps to improve your family and home life. You may need to review and change your career goals as well. Career matters come to a head. You may be challenged to perform and prove your competence in 2011. Keeping everything aboveboard is critical. Finding a balance between your attention to home and career is the challenge now.
A positive connection between your ninth and fifth houses this year makes the latter half of 2011 a highly spirited time. You are in the position to inspire others through what you create. Do your best to create something tangible out of your ideas. You are bound to reach a broader audience if you do, and the feedback will feed the flames of your own inspiration. Romantic opportunities might come from people of an entirely different background or culture, or through education and travel.
Jupiter trines Pluto in July and then again in October. This transit generally favors business, the law, and commerce. We might enjoy increased influence, faith, and insight now. The desire for more personal significance can lead us to give of ourselves or motivate us to more ambitiously pursue personal or professional goals. The ability to sway or persuade can be enhanced now. One of the most positive uses of this transit involves taking steps to better ourselves. We might solve a problem that has been in existence for some time, or capitalize upon a resource that was previously hidden or unacknowledged. Jupiter also forms favorable aspects to Neptune and Chiron from June forward. For you, home and domestic matters can be especially favorable. You might become more organized in your home life, and you can more effectively get work done at home if need be. More compassion and tolerance might emerge in your relationships with family. You could feel more “in charge” of domestic matters. Relationships with siblings and neighbors might be improved and a source of happiness. Communications and transportation issues can also improve during this period. Studies are likely to be easier, or you might enjoy more success in your courses.
