Retrograde Mercury enters Aquarius

Mercury moves back into the sign of Aquarius on February 18th, 2027. It will be retrograde in Aquarius only until March 3rd, but Mercury will continue in the sign of Aquarius until March 18th.

When Mercury is in Aquarius, we are hungry for knowledge and open to new and original ideas. We begin to think outside of the box, and our thinking becomes more progressive and objective. Our communication and thought patterns are spontaneous, somewhat fragmented, and liberal. This is a time when inventive thinking is at a peak.

While Mercury began its retrograde on February 9th in the sign of Pisces, retrograde Mercury returns to the sign of Aquarius on February 18th, 2027.

Mercury is in Aquarius from February 18-March 18, 2027 (it just recently visited from January 13-31).

Mercury’s retrograde cycle, lasting from February 9th to March 3rd, is the reason for Mercury returning to Aquarius so soon after leaving the sign. The retrograde began in Pisces, but with reverse motion, Mercury now dips back into Aquarius.

With Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius:

While Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Aquarius, we might return to old problems, entanglements, and unfinished projects with a renewed perspective. Past ideas and perceptions of people and pursuits in our lives can emerge and change.

During this period, we’re getting in touch with our humanitarian goals and ideals. We may be more able to tap into our inner muse and come up with especially inventive ideas. However, some slowdowns and delays are likely.

With Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, we may be reviewing our friendships, alliances, social activities, and group associations. We can find ourselves more frequently having to explain our statements or needing to rethink our options. It can be a time of breaking out of old thought and learning patterns that no longer work in our favor.

Taking a new look at an old friend or friendship is possible during this phase. It can also be a time of reassessing our social and happiness goals, hopes, dreams, and visions of the future. We may see these things differently, which can lead to adjustments.

It’s best to aim to be more tactful, intentional, and understandable in our communications during Mercury’s retrograde period. Being more mindful about what you’re communicating and putting out into the world is wise, as judgment is not always great. Details may be missing and hidden, making it best to avoid signing and committing if possible. Even so, the tendency may be to focus on the wrong details. Thinking outside the box is important during this cycle.
