The Sun enters Sagittarius today, where it will transit until December 21st. Our focus shifts from the need for an intimate connection with a person, project, or ourselves to the desire to reach out to the world and connect with something larger than ourselves.

While the Sun moves through the fiery, mutable sign of Sagittarius in the weeks ahead, we might take steps to increase our understanding and awareness of the world around us. We muster up the courage to expand our horizons and branch out into new ways of thinking. We gain more confidence and optimism by focusing on the “big picture” as we move away from our focus on the details of mundane existence.

Although we may be prone to overdoing our expectations, we have the opportunity to nurture our faith, hope, and vision during this cycle.

Today, however, we are heading toward a Sun-Saturn square, and we might face obstacles and challenges. We can feel underestimated, unrecognized, unlucky, or unrewarded! Perhaps most importantly, we should watch for setting unattainable standards for ourselves, others, and situations. Our commitment to rest can temporarily interfere with a need for adventure.

We face obstacles, but this puts us in the position to recognize our ability to overcome them. It can be a time to face reality or the practical side of a situation and assume more responsibility.

Venus forms a sesquiquadrate to Saturn and an opposition to Chiron, and there can be disappointments as we focus on the differences and weaknesses rather than the strong points in our interactions. Temporarily, we’re less confident about our relationships, social life, worth, money, or social skills. We are more aware and possibly resentful of imbalances in our relationships and insecure about whether our affections are reciprocated.

There can be some anxiety or troubles with matters concerned with feelings and preferences until we get in touch with our actual needs and wants.
