The Moon continues its transit of stable Taurus until 2:40 PM EST. This morning, the First Quarter Moon occurs when the Sun in Aquarius forms a square with the Moon in Taurus. There is a crisis theme surrounding any quarter Moon phase, as we feel compelled to take action. We become aware of how our actions affect those close to us, perhaps through trial and error. Whatever project or initiative we began around the New Moon is now off the ground, and it may face its first obstacles. It can be a time of stress, clashing, and discord, but also high energy, motivation, and growth.

Venus ends its transit of Capricorn and enters Aquarius today, where it will transit until March 11th. We’re moving towards more unconventionality, independence, and freedom in our social relationships.

Under this influence, experimental or non-traditional relationships, entertainment, purchases, and pursuits are especially intriguing. Allowing one another fuller freedom of expression and treating others fairly, unselfishly, and impartially are themes. Our tastes and interests incline towards the avant-garde during this cycle.

Venus heads toward a conjunction with Pluto, and we want to grow, change, or intensify our relationships, money, pleasures, or social lives–or grow ourselves through these things. It’s a time of intense feelings and a stronger connection with our deeper wants.

However, we might try to sway, coerce, and manipulate others or demand more from our relationships or pastimes. This is a time when we can be incredibly focused and perhaps obsessed, especially when interacting. There is a tendency to want–and demand–more than usual from a partnership or friendship.

A Mercury-Uranus square can add abruptness and tension to our thinking patterns and conversations. Our senses are hyper-stimulated. There can be sudden flashes of insight or fresh new ideas, but our plans may not come together well just yet. We may be impatient with routine matters or monotonous tasks. Disorganization or bluntness with our communications is likely. Information that upsets the status quo can surface now. Even so, this transit can also stimulate our minds, encouraging new ways of thinking.
