Timing with Numerology
Numerology & The Future
On our general Numerology page, we offered interpretations of the numbers in relation to personality.
On this page, we take a look at the number vibrations as an expression of time. We show you how to calculate the Personal Year Number as well as the monthly cycle numbers in order to understand the vibration of particular years and months.
We also discuss the concept of attaching a number to each day, and timing events in harmony with the numbers associated with a particular day.
Yearly Cycles/The Personal Year Numbers
The Birth Path Number always stays the same. However, numbers are associated with each year following birth, and these are called Personal Year Numbers.
Personal Year Numbers are easy to calculate. To determine the current year’s number, simply add the birth day and month to the year in question.
Example
Using the example in the calculation of the Birth Path Number on our Numerology page, in which a person was born on April 28, 1968, to determine the number attached to the current year, 2005, we would simply add the birth month and day to 2005, as follows:
4+2+8+2+0+0+5 = 21 = 3
The Personal Year in this example is 3.
Note that numbers are chronological from year to year. In other words, if this year your Personal Year Number is 3, next year will be 4, the following year will be 5, and so forth.
The Meaning of Personal Year Numbers in Numerology:
Personal Year One:
This is a year of action. The seeds you plant now, you will reap later. Others might find you less sociable, as you are busier than ever and you focus on your activities and your needs. Still, you are outgoing and your initiative is stronger than ever. Advice – Stand alone, take action, start fresh, express independence.
Personal Year Two:
This is a year of potential companionship. It is a quiet, gentle, and mostly harmonious year that is less active than other years. Instead, you are more responsive to the needs of others. If you are patient and open yourself up in a gentle manner, you will attract both things and people. This is an excellent year in which to build and develop for the future. Advice – be patient, be receptive, enjoy the peace, collect.
Personal Year Three:
This is a year of sociability. It is a friendly time, during which it is especially easy to enjoy life and other people. Focus is on personal freedom, reaching out to others, making new friends, and exploration. You are more enthusiastic and ready for adventure. It is likely to be a rather lighthearted year, when opportunities for “play” time are greater than usual. It’s also a good year for expressing your creativity. Advice – reach out, but avoid scattering your energies.
Personal Year Four:
This is a year of work and development. It’s “nose to the grindstone” time. It’s a time to deal with practical matters, and it’s not a time to be lazy or especially gregarious. Sometimes, it can be a year that feels hard, monotonous and routine, and/or lonely. Positive new relationships are not as frequently formed in a Four personal year than they are in other years. Advice – get yourself organized, work to build your resources, keep busy.
Personal Year Five:
This is a year of exploration and freedom. It’s a time when exploration and reaching out to others brings opportunities. It’s a good time to advertise and sell. Surprises are in store, and the routine is broken. This is a year when exciting relationships can be formed, or, if you are already in a partnership, new life is breathed into the relationship. Advice – explore, look for adventure, keep your eyes open for opportunities, mingle.
Personal Year Six:
This is a year of relative contentment. It is a time when love is the easiest to attract, and partnerships formed under this vibration have a better chance for longevity. You are able to attract others, and material things as well, this year. This is a good year for establishing harmony in the family and in the home. Advice – develop existing relationships, be positive and receptive because these kinds of energies help you to attract what you desire.
Personal Year Seven:
This is a year of preparation, chance, and refinement. It is not a time of dramatic changes. Instead, it’s a year when reflection on the past is helpful, and when refinements to your life path should be made. It’s a good year to study and analyze. Unexpected twists to your life story and “chance” meetings are probable. Advice – take stock of your life in order to prepare for more exciting years to come, examine the past and plan for the future, get in touch with your deepest needs and uncover your personal power, don’t strain yourself or actively try to expand.
Personal Year Eight:
This is a year of power and accomplishment. Actively seeking to expand, taking educated risks, and moving forward are highlighted. This is a year of opportunity, particularly in the material and business world, and opportunities need to be seized. It’s generally not a year to find a new love partner, simply because the focus is on the material world and your place in the world. This is a problem-solving year in which you can expect real, tangible results. Advice – take action, plan ahead, seize opportunities.
Personal Year Nine:
This is a year of completion and transition. It’s a time when we need to let go of things that no longer serve their purpose, and hold on to things that have a future. We’re cleaning out dead wood, and not necessarily in the best shape for new beginnings. It can be a time when a burden has been taken off your shoulders, and it can be a year of giving of yourself. Advice – let go of things that are holding you back, give of yourself and express your sympathetic, compassionate side.
Monthly Cycle Numbers
Once the personal year cycle is understood, and you are familiar with the specific number vibration for a particular year, you can refine your understanding of the year by determining the Personal Month Number for each month in the year.
It is important to keep the Personal Year Number in mind, as it provides the context for the month numbers.
To calculate a Personal Month Number, simply add the Personal Year Number to the numeral-equivalent of the month.
We determined in the example above that the Personal Year Number for 2005 for a person born on April 28, 1968 is 3. To determine the Personal Month Number for August 2005, we add 3 to the numeral-equivalent of August, which is 8 (August is the 8th month):
3+8 = 11
Then we reduce the number:
11 = 1+1 = 2
The Personal Month Number in our example for August 2005 is 2. The Personal Month Number for January 2005 would be 3+1 = 4. For February 2005, it is 3+2 = 5. For October 2005, it is 3+1+0 = 4.
The meanings of the Personal Month Numbers are essentially the same as those for the Personal Year Numbers, except that we are dealing with a shorter period of time–a month–instead of a year.
Universal Numbers for Any Day
Any day of the year can be reduced to a number. For example, September 20, 2005 will have a vibration of 9. Why? If we reduce the date to a single digit, we have the following:
9+2+0+2+0+0+5 = 18 = 9.
Note that when we reduce any date this way, it is a universal number rather than a personal one. We are not personalizing it with our own birth data.
It is fairly straightforward to determine which numbers work best for specific events. Get to know the characteristics of each number as a function of time (see the interpretations above) and as a function of character (see the interpretations on our main Numerology page).
For example, an ideal day to meet someone in the hopes that the relationship is a meaningful, romantic one would be a Venus-ruled 6 day. A good day to take action to achieve results in business would be a number 8 day.
Conversely, if I have the opportunity to schedule an important business meeting, I might not want to schedule it for a number 7 day, since Seven’s vibration is non-material by nature.
In order to personalize these universal day numbers, we can look to days that have the same number as our Birth Path Number.
Also, if this month my Personal Month Number is 4, I might decide that a good day to express this month’s number 4 energy (when I can get organized or accomplish a lot of work) would be on a number 4 day. I would consider that universal number 4 day more personally significant.
