Mars enters its pre-retrograde shadow.

 

Mars will be retrograde from September 9 to November 13, 2020, in the sign of Aries.

Today, Mars enters the retrograde zone (shadow). This doesn’t mean that Mars is retrograde (the retrograde will start on September 9th. Instead, this is the date when Mars enters the zone of degrees of Aries that it will return to later when it retrogrades. Initiatives related to Mars starting now may come up for review later.

Mars Retrograde Dates in 2020:

Mars is retrograde from September 9th to November 13th, 2020.

• Mars enters its retrograde zone on July 25th, 2020, at 15° Aries 14′
• Mars turns retrograde on September 9th, 2020, at 28° Aries 08’Rx
• Mars turns direct on November 13th, 2020, at 15° Aries 14′
• Mars leaves its retrograde zone on January 2nd, 2021, at 28° Aries 08′

 

Mars Retrograde Cycle from September 9 to November 13, 2020:

Mars will spend its full retrograde cycle in the sign of Aries.

The Sun opposes Mars on October 13th, 2020 (the Sun only opposes Mars while Mars is retrograde).

Mars is in its shadow period from July 25th to September 9th, and then from November 13th to January 2nd.

Note that Mars is retrograde relatively frequently — every 2 years or so for approximately 58-81 days.

The last time Mars was retrograde in the sign of Aries, however, was some time ago: August 26 to October 23, 1988.
