The Sun continues to put a spotlight on your solar fifth house. This is a time when pleasure-seeking and creative activities come into focus and grab much of your attention. You are particularly personally charming in a spontaneous, natural way during this solar cycle. This is the time of year when you are ready to perform and to express yourself creatively. This is a very playful cycle, when you are inspired creatively and emotionally. It's a good time for recreation, romance, connecting with children, and enjoying and performing the arts. Your ego is tied up in your children, romantic relationships, and creative output now, so that you can be especially proud of these people and things. You can also be over-sensitive about these matters if you feel you are not getting enough appreciation.
From January 20th forward:The Sun illuminates your solar sixth house. During this cycle, you take more pride in the work you do and in your health routines than any other time of the year. You are sorting through the experiences of the last several months, separating the worthwhile from the worthless. This is a good time to build your skills, to get organized, and to attend to your health and wellbeing. It's a great time to make improvements to your regular routines. Your self-esteem and your ego are tied up in the work you do and in the services you give. Details are more important to you now. It's time to bring order to your life by focusing on the little things that make up the whole. This cycle presents an opportunity to get rid of what doesn't work in your life, while also discovering what does. You could seek distinction and strive towards perfection in your work. Efficiency should be your goal now. Your physical health, as well as the relationship between your body and your mind, are in focus.
Venus this Month: Love, Romance, Social Life, Comfort

Venus continues to transit your solar fourth house now. Domestic relationships and the home environment tend to be especially harmonious and peaceful during this cycle. You may have a desire to decorate your home with better quality items or more attention to aesthetics. An inner sense of peace and security tends to dominate now, or the desire for peace motivates you now. Your affections are strong but you don't wear your heart on your sleeve just now, preferring quiet moments with loved ones.
From January 23rd forward:
Venus warms your solar fifth house. This is an expressive period for the goddess of love! It's natural for you to turn on the charm without even lifting a finger. You are especially attracted to aesthetic forms of recreation. You feel a little more playful now, and love matters tend to be laced with a touch of drama. That shouldn't be a problem--in fact, you kind of like it that way for the time being. More loving and appreciative relationships with your children may also figure now. Your powers of attraction skyrocket during this cycle. Yet, you are not aggressive in your approach to love. Instead, you attract more if you allow yourself to be pursued during this cycle. Creative self-expression of any kind is favored at this time. At this time, you instinctively know how to place yourself in the best light in order to make a good impression on others. Any love affair begun now will be characterized by good cheer, having fun, and a fair share of emotional drama!
Mercury this Month: Communications, Learning, Connections, Transportation
Mercury is retrograde from January 5-25:
All Mercury retrograde cycles particularly affect you in terms of your own body language and personal manner (you may feel that others misunderstand you), as well as communications involving the career or public, because Mercury rules these areas of your life. You are ruled by Mercury, so the likelihood of being misunderstood, in general, is high. Put off career decisions as well, as career matters are Gemini-ruled for you.
Occurring in your solar fifth and sixth houses this time, extra care should be exercised when it comes to romance, children, creativity, work, and daily routines. Be as non- judgmental as you can with co-workers, romantic partners, and your children. Re- thinking the suitability of your job and/or romantic relationships is possible now, but you should avoid jumping to any premature decisions. Work-related mess-ups can frustrate you. Double-check your work. There may be the need to revisit old issues with your children or lover, or there could be some communication problems with the same. Arguments with a lover may be blown out of proportion far too easily. Both you and your lover should avoid harping on the words used and try to get to the meaning behind the words instead. Or, a romance may not be moving forward in obvious ways. It might seem like stagnation, but it's actually a period of review and rest. Other possibilities include calls that are not returned, a lover is late for a date, or dates get cancelled. Speculation and gambling are not advised right now. Things will change once Mercury turns direct, so you might decide to try to keep status quo for the time being. It would be wise to be especially clear when it comes to communicating with co-workers, professors, lawyers, romantic partners, and children, or take this time to re-examine issues rather than communicating about them prematurely.
Mars this Month: Energy, Drive, Courage

Mars continues to energize your solar second house. You tend to put more effort into making money or making your life more comfortable and secure during this cycle. Your strong desire to be financially independent could lead to positive things, such as paying off debts or increased enterprise. The opposite side of the coin is asserting your independence by making impulsive purchases or taking risks with your money. You are more protective of the way you earn or spend money, as well as with the values you live your life by, and if others question you about these things, there could be arguments.
From January 3rd forward:
Mars animates and energizes your solar third house now. You are likely to have many ideas and plans going during this transit, and you might be inclined to scatter your energies as a result. Channelled well, however, this is a good time to sell your ideas to others, or to present your case in some manner. You may be especially busy running errands and communicating with others now. More articulate than usual, you may also have a more assertive, self-centered, or provocative communication style at this time. As such, discussions might more readily become heated or they might escalate into arguments. If this is the case, it's likely because you are taking things very personally right now, or because you are over-identifying with your beliefs and ideas. A tendency to be impatient or impulsive while driving or while performing manual tasks, generally with the hands, may lead to accidents, so it's wise to be careful on the road or while operating machinery or even using scissors! This is an excellent time for working on intellectual tasks with more vigor and passion.

This is a month for finding ways to more fully enjoy and express yourself, dear Virgo. There can be times when you feel mentally wired, but overall, there is greater passion and motivation to get things done, to learn, to connect, and to share. You may not often sit still, and you're inclined to want to initiate independent work and projects. You learn best when you are teaching yourself or engaged in self-study this month and next. Watch carefully for alienating others through harsh words, or speaking prematurely of matters that are better left alone for the time being on the 4-5 and 22nd. Both of these dates are close to Mercury's stations. Misunderstandings are likely, and more weight may be given to words you might wish to take back later. January is also a month for some introspection and slowing down in order to catch your breath and review recent projects. For one, Jupiter in your sign turns retrograde on the 7th, and for another, Mercury, your ruler, is retrograde from the 5-25. Jupiter continues to boost your optimism and confidence, but while retrograde from January 7-May 9, you are likely to see areas of excess and begin to work on projects that you've already taken on rather than adding new ones to your life. If you've been overdoing pleasures or the seeking of freedom, this is the time to rethink and make adjustments that bring you down to earth, just a little! This can also be a time for repairs and refinements in the home and with family. During Mercury's retrograde, aim to edit, review, and refine creative projects. A romantic partner from the past may reappear, either in thought or person. You might discover new ways to recycle or rework old hobbies. Your ideas are genuinely creative right now, and there can be a dramatic and competitive touch to pretty much everything you do this month. Pay special attention to creative impulses and ideas around the 12-14, when the Sun and Mercury align and harmonize with Jupiter in your sign. Look to projects you've already started and perhaps to the past for things you may have missed. Venus moving through your home and family sector until the 23rd softens any rough edges around the home. The 8th is strong for committing to a home or family project, and the ability to see things more realistically is empowering. Meeting your responsibilities is important now. You may feel aligned with or supported by a significant person in your life. If you've been overworking or forgetting to attend to your emotional health, the Full Moon on the 23rd will remind you of the need to slow down. The 25th forward is excellent for romantic and business relationships. You're resolving problems and connecting well with others now.
