The Sun enters Taurus on April 19th this year.

Taurus is ruled by docile Venus, and is a passive, feminine sign. Her appeal is luring, earthy sensuality and practicality. Her main challenge is to learn to share.

Her main gemstone is the emerald. Emeralds are especially appropriate worn as necklaces because the body part ruled by Taurus is the neck. Emeralds have traditionally been associated with loyalty, belief in immortality, love, and faith.

Her main color is green. Taurus generally looks best in earthy colors, denim, and white. She looks at clothes (and people) in terms of how they might feel to the touch, and even if an outfit looks fabulous, if it doesn’t feel fabulous next to her skin, she’ll avoid it. Interestingly too, she usually sniffs out new clothes, and is more aware than most about how certain fabrics absorb smells! She sticks to her favorite clothes and jewelry, and many a Taurus woman will own more than one of each of these favorite pieces. If she finds the perfect fit and style of jeans, for example, she’ll go back and buy a second pair in case something happens to the first, rather than risk trying a new style. While Taurus can pull off a lot, she doesn’t look good in boxy or uncomfortable-looking clothes. When it comes to attraction, Taurus’ secret weapon is serenity. There is a composed, peaceful, and patient quality to Taurus that is unmistakable and irresistible to many. Potential suitors sense that she’s solid, never desperate or overly needy, and genuine. More often than not, Taurus women are described as “real” or even “the real thing”. She’s not flashy, yet she makes a statement. She’s sensual and feminine yet firm and strong-minded. There’s an extremely soothing aura surrounding Taurus that is really quite rare in a world seemingly filled with stressed-out people. It’s easy to trust a Taurus, and to count on her.

In a pinch, Taurus will rarely engage in a messy argument, although she does have a legendary temper if completely provoked. If cornered, her refusal to “go there” might be a little frustrating at first, but usually wins her “the argument that never was”. Why fight with someone who seems above it all? You’ll only wind up feeling silly and appearing excessively emotional in contrast. She is good at walking out if she feels you’re blowing things out of proportion. She’s expert at scoping out a new person in her life, although she rarely comes across as the type of person who questions and doubts. Instead, she seems to be a great listener. While she’s rarely gushing, she offers solid advice and support. Taurus takes quite a bit of time to let a lover into her heart, but when she does, she can be unstinting. She’ll defend you to death, if the need arises. In fact, she comes alive when she needs to defend or protect a loved one.

Because she is basically unadventurous, change can be a threat to her. She is more likely to get into a rut, preferring to preserve the status quo, so that any change that happens in her life she perceives to come from the outside. However, whatever experiences life brings to her she learns quickly from, and is unlikely to make the same mistake twice.

Passionate and always tender, Taurus is seductive and will pamper her lover both in the bedroom and out of it. She will take her time in a relationship and needs to be wooed. She wants to get to know her partner and will not commit until she is sure she has made the right choice. When she does commit though, it’s probably forever. She does get jealous, but only if really provoked.

Sex with the Taurus woman is a deeply sensuous experience. She likes a lover who takes time to savor the moment, and doesn’t think much of a person who thinks foreplay is something you do on the golf course. She is often content with repeating the same things in bed, but before you decide that’s boring, remember that contentment means she’s not going to rush out and find a replacement if you’re going through a dry spell. Her main color is red. Aries generally looks best in white, black, and red. Her choice of wardrobe is neither flowery nor frilly, as she tends to prefer sporty styles. While she is rarely subtle, she is usually not overdone either. One of Aries’ strongest characteristics–enthusiasm for all that is new–can come through in her style and wardrobe choices. She is all for trying something new, but she often loses interest in her passions quickly. So, that new outfit,  piece of jewelry, or beauty product that she just had to have may not hold her interest for long before the next new thing comes along! Aries isn’t fond of any style that takes too long to maintain–fussing over details isn’t her forte.

When it comes to attraction, Aries’ secret weapon is positivity. Even the shyer Aries seem to have an inner confidence that you do really want her. She is quite sure that she can win you over, and there is an almost innocent aura about her that can be a huge turn-on. Innocent is probably not the word you’d use to describe her in general; but her confidence and enthusiasm radiate an appealingly direct, sincere, and simple personality that can be hard to resist.

Aries really does love the hunt and the chase. This doesn’t mean she will never settle down, but it does mean you have to do your share to keep things exciting. When she gets all fired up about something or someone, she is completely passionate and right there in the moment. If you are the object of her desire, you are greater than life–she lives and breathes you, at least for the time being. Whether this passion lasts or not is the question. Pisces is ruled by dreamy Neptune, and her intuition runs deep. Like the stormy sea, her emotions are complex and changeable. Her challenge is to discern between essential truths of spirit and mere mirage.

Her special gemstone is jade, and is particularly appropriate in jewelry for the hands and feet (rings, bracelets, toe rings, and so forth), as Pisces rules the feet. She also does well with the amethyst.

Her main color is sea green. Pisces generally looks best in ocean shades of blue and green, and often steers clear of overly bright colors.

Because Pisces is somewhat of a chameleon, she is quite flexible when it comes to style and fashion. She dislikes constructs and stereotypes, and doesn’t like to be a slave to current trends. As well, she doesn’t like restrictive clothing, preferring to ease in and out of her wardrobe effortlessly. Luckily, she can usually get away with pretty much anything. She possesses an unusual quality in that she can blend in yet somehow remain unique. Pisces has a flair for fantasy, drama, and make-believe, and sometimes this is apparent in her particular style. She often has a greater than average love for shoes!

Pisces tends to be averse to any style that is too forceful, restrictive, or overly defined. This is in keeping with a personality that is never harsh or austere. Soft lines, a shape that moves and breathes, and soft rather than primary colors are styles that suit the Piscean personality.

When it comes to attraction, Pisces’ secret weapon is evasiveness. There is an aura of mystery around Pisces, in addition to kindness, femininity, and softness. While you can’t exactly call her aloof, she maintains a subtle distance that keeps others intrigued.

When in an emotional jam or argument, a partnered Pisces is likely to use a “who, me?” approach. Some have brought “playing dumb” to an art form, as they have discovered that this is the best way to avoid answering uncomfortable or awkward questions.

In love, Pisces gives a lot, but not everything. Most important to remember is this: it’s a mistake to assume Pisces is weak, but it’s also a mistake to assume Pisces is strong. She is both. The message is: don’t push her beyond her limits, because although it might appear that she has none, she does draw the line at some point. Avoid taking advantage of her good nature and willingness to make sacrifices. She sees her willingness to forgive and understand as a strength, and you should too.  She is fully capable of re-inventing her life, even if that means a life without you. Nevertheless, you should also avoid labeling her as strong as well. She does need help sometimes, and can feel very lonely if the important person in her life leaves her alone to take care of her life when her life is a mess. She could easily interpret this attitude as a lack of concern and love on your part.
