Relationships and the Year of the Ox, Number 11/2 Year

2009 is the Year of the Ox. It’s also a number 2 year in Numerology. Both of these suggest 2009 is a year of slow and steady progress in the relationship department.

The Ox in Chinese Astrology isn’t into head over heels, impulsive, and carefree love. The Ox, in fact, favors caution and reserve. Decisions made in the Year of the Ox tend to be long-lasting ones.

During the retrograde of Venus from March 6th to April 17th, 2009, we are likely to re-evaluate our love ties. Again, there is a theme of caution. Decisions about love made during this retrograde period may be regretted later. It’s best to take our time as we assess our relationships and love life in general, and hold off on major decision making until the whole process is “complete”.

2009 reduces to an 11/2 in Numerology. It’s a year in which a tolerant approach to life and to others is favored. It’s also a period in which we seek to find our purpose, particularly through others, and strive towards balance. We’re more inclined to crave a solid, grounded partnership rather than a series of meaningless ones.

Both the Ox and the Number 2 are yin or feminine energies.

Overall, the year is strong for finding meaning and purpose in one-on-one relationships and for building a solid foundation in love. Decisions about relationships should be well thought out. Jumping into or out of relationships impulsively is not especially favored this year. Tolerance, patience, and caution are all traits that bring rewards in 2009. Take your time!

I was born under the year of the Fire Horse and I would like to know what my forecast are for the year of the OX. I’m not in a relationship right now and I’m pretty interested if there would still be someone out there for me. I’ll check back for your answer, thanks!

Interesting blog, I am an ox but I honestly haven’t studied Chinese Astrology very much- I hope this year is full of steady, hard work & that I reap in the benefits later!
