Venus squares Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune and sextiles Uranus July 1st and 2nd, pulling up some tensions in love revolving around how much we are giving, receiving, and accepting; as well as how much of ourselves we are giving up in the name of love. Disappointments that might occur now come from unrealistic expectations–of ourselves, of others, and of love in general. At the same time, we have an opportunity to grow from any revelations occurring now, with our eye on the future. Ultimately, we are learning to give our partners (and ourselves) more freedom–to be themselves, and to enjoy life without our controlling them. With Neptune involved, there is a need to let go of something unreasonable, whether it’s an expectation, a hang up, or a dream.
Uranus is stationary retrograde early July 1st. Whenever a planet stations, its energy hangs heavy in the air. Turning retrograde (until December), we are now beginning to internalize its energies. Expression of Uranus is no longer clear, natural, or flowing. Depending on how we handle our need to effect changes in order to grow, we might more easily get in touch with what it is we need to do, or let things fester and express themselves in mini temper tantrums or rebellions. It’s sort of like being sent to your room as a child for a time-out, so that you can think about your behavior. You can take that time to process everything and come back healthier and stronger, or choose not to, instead letting frustrations build and never truly solving any problems, and perhaps only exacerbating them. With Uranus stationary on the 1st, there can be a feeling of real frustration and tension in the air, as we haven’t yet had the time to process everything going on around us and inside of us. It’s that initial feeling of being sent to our rooms. With Venus squaring Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron, there can be a drama taking place in our close relationships, and whatever it is, it might hold quite a shock factor. There is a general feeling of discontent now, and it’s best to avoid making haughty decisions, or jumping to wild conclusions, until we’ve taken the time to process it all.
