ErosScopes: May 2010 Love Horoscopes for Aries through Virgo

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. The Moon shows our underlying emotional needs that can express themselves as sexual fantasies and needs.

While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Also, sometimes I have more to say for some signs, simply because more astrological activity is taking place that is related to relationships for that sign this month (or because I am digressing!). This does not mean I am biased towards any particular sign.

May 2010 ErosScopes – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo

Aries

Change is on the horizon, dear Aries, and a spiritual revelation/awakening or attitude breakthrough is likely to occur in May that propels you along a new path this spring and summer. While you began the year focused on the past, you are beginning to set your sights on the future, and setting your sights high! You are more self-confident and generous in spirit, and hungry for growth as well as new experiences. You might be questioning why you have settled for less to date, and you are now looking to expand your horizons and reach out for more from life. Your need for freedom can be so strong that you leave cherished things (or people!) behind. While you shouldn’t resist change now, you should avoid completely impulsive behavior. You are ready to pursue romance and to take the lead this month, and you benefit from clarity about what it is you want from your love life. May 17-June 7 in particular is an excellent period for confidently going after what you want, as well as for a romance to pick up its pace and excite you. Others are admiring your direct, playful, and confident approach. While you’re wanting excitement and entertainment from love this month, a lover or partner is more inclined to take it easy and enjoy quieter moments. Communication is especially important to you this month, and intimacy and warmth important ingredients in bed (especially after the 19th). Saturn has retreated (temporarily) from your seventh house, taking some of the pressure off commitments. Taurus

Mid-month is a feel-good time for you, dear Taurus, when you feel the need to make a fresh start. Communication problems can be a bit troublesome until then, however, particularly when it comes to money and love. You may be giving off mixed signals as you take your time to express yourself–and you should be taking your time, as the tendency to say all the wrong things, or to misrepresent your true feelings, is strong. Love ties are coming up for review, and the need to put the past behind you becomes insistent. Some of you will be determining whether a romantic relationship is strong enough to be brought forward with you. The desire for freedom to explore friendships and to have your own schedule is strong, and this may be part of your dilemma. Reaching a compromise might seem difficult, but is probably the best solution. A surprising new friendship could develop this month. A light-hearted and playful approach to love is what works best for you in May. You’re less interested in emotional entanglements and the intricacies of relating than you are simply enjoying a lover’s company. It’s important to open the lines of communication with a partner as the month progresses, and to get out and about with one another. You’re especially appreciating thoughtful little gestures and communications. Gemini

You are especially magnetic this month, dear Gemini, particularly in the second half of May. With Venus, the goddess of love, in your sign until the 19th, your quiet confidence in yourself attracts others to you. Venus also rules your romance sector, bringing love opportunities to you, and ensuring that a lover is in your corner, or that love interests are paying attention. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it. Mercury, your ruler, is retrograde until May 11th, however, and you might be a little distant. Leo

Until the 19th, Venus moving through your solar eleventh house brings cooperative and friendly energy to your love life, dear Leo. If you are single, look for love opportunities in group settings and with or through friends. During this cycle, you are at your most magnetic when you’re expressing your humanitarian side. It’s all about friendship and camaraderie now. You are more likely to meet with people who share common ideals or goals. Your especially friendly, cooperative attitude is a major part of your charm. Some of you will be meeting new romantic interests or experiencing a rejuvenation of romance in existing relationships. From the 19th, you’re entering a more contemplative cycle in love. Venus in the twelfth and last sector of your solar chart suggests the need to connect to something bigger than yourself in your love life, and this can involve making some sacrifices. Eros’ position in the same sector also points to the need for re-evaluation of your needs in preparation for a rebirth of sorts next month. Virgo

Venus enters your solar eleventh house on the 19th, and you’re entering a cycle in which your loving nature is most stimulated when you’re feeling a sense of camaraderie as well as the freedom to be who you are instead of what others expect you to be. Reticence about changes in a close personal relationship is something you have been struggling with for some time, and now is a good time to examine what is holding you back.
