ErosScopes: July 2010 Love Horoscopes for Aries to Virgo

Horoscopes for the month ahead, with a focus on love, sex, romance, and style.

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. The Moon shows our underlying emotional needs that can express themselves as sexual fantasies and needs.

While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Please note: These horoscopes are more accurate for the Ascendant sign, so if you know it, read them for the sign of your Ascendant first, and the sign of your Sun second.

Also, sometimes I have more to say for some signs, simply because more astrological activity is taking place that is related to relationships for that sign this month (or because I am digressing!). This does not mean I am biased towards any particular sign.

July 2010 ErosScopes – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo

Aries

With freedom-seeking Jupiter and Uranus in your sign, dear Aries, your need to express yourself authentically is undeniable. Your eye is on the future and you are wanting to put the past behind you. However, it can be challenging to truly move forward without reminders of unfinished business around you. A sense that a partnership, or lack of one, is holding you back from chasing your dreams, and from being everything you can be, may be strong now. For the time being, major decisions might best be avoided until you have truly figured out what it is you are pursuing. It’s a good time to observe and analyze what changes can be made. Your involvement in your work, health routines, and practical matters is tremendous this  month, and this focus can mean romance is on the back burner for you just for the time being. Love is becoming a serious matter to you later in July–from the 10th when Venus exits your romance sector and enters your work sector, and then even more so after the 21st when Saturn re-enters your partnership sector. You’re looking for something mature, or something mature is looking for you! Either way, it’s time to take a hard look at how you are relating to others on a one-to-one level. Once Mars also moves into your partnership sector starting July 29th, any problems that have been brewing in relationships will begin to surface and demand attention. Better days for love in July are the 11th, 13th, and 16th; more challenging days for love are possible on the 8-10, 22nd, and 29th.

Taurus

Romance continues to keep you on your toes this month, dear Taurus. From the 10-29, both romantic Venus and feisty Mars move through your romance sector, and this indicates a busy period for casual relationships, and a more romantic and playful period for committed partnerships. Eros, the god of erotic love, is also moving through your romance sector and harmonizing with your Sun, so July does promise to bring much excitement and stimulation to your romantic life. You are pursuing love, and love is pursuing you. Saturn has been moving through your romance sector on and off since 2007 (mostly on), and on July 21st, leaves this sector for good (that is, for another 28 years). The lessons you’ve been learning in love and romance should now be crystallized and absorbed. Perhaps a love relationship has reached a more mature state, or you’ve learned to keep your expectations from love more realistic. You’ve been feeling the weight of responsibilities to lovers, learning much through your interactions with casual partners, and now the pressures are easing. Better days for love in July are likely to be the 1st, 6th, 13-14, and 30th; while more challenging days could be the 9-10, 19th, 27th, and 29th.

Gemini

July may be a rather tame month romantically speaking for you, dear Gemini. Towards the end of the month, romance returns to the front burner, but for the most part, it’s comfortable and a little cautious. Partnerships have been exciting for you recently, with your partnership sector ruler, Jupiter, entering a new sign and aligning with electric Uranus. Friendships have been changing as well. This month, Jupiter turns retrograde, and while this doesn’t put an end to the excitement, it does mean that things aren’t moving at the same brisk pace, giving you time to think and sort through recent experiences. Venus in your solar fourth house from the 10th suggests a return to the heart of a relationship, and a need for familiarity and comfort. On the 21st, Saturn re-enters your romance sector, and this indicates that for the next couple of years, lessons about love, especially the more casual kind, will awaken you to the need for more maturity and realism in this area of your life. Fiery Mars enters your romance sector on the 29th, and any problems or frustrations that have been brewing in love relationships will begin to surface and demand your attention. Mars will stay in this sector from July 29-September 14. Romance picks up pace, and you are ready to pursue love full-on. Stronger days for love occur on July 6-7, 11th, and 25th. July 9-10, 13th, and 27th are potentially more challenging ones.

Cancer

A solar eclipse occurs in your sign on July 11th, dear Cancer, and it’s time for a personality makeover. It’s your time to start fresh and to shine! Relationships have been especially revealing recently, and ideally you’ve seen that they are mirroring some of your own insecurities so that you can work on them. Improving your self-image is essential now. Your ability to take charge of your life is called up for inspection this month, and as you learn to become more self-reliant, you’ll see major improvements in your love life. It’s not that you need to go it alone in order for others to see you in the best light. Instead, the goal is to detach yourself a little and learn about your own needs and desires. Partnerships require more equality in order to thrive. They are not going to thrive if one of you is doing all or most of the giving. Communication becomes especially important to you from the 10th forward. Keeping things light and fun will be the most rewarding. More opportunities for love are found while learning or chatting, and possibly in your own neighborhood. This month, frequent communication  is excellent for getting you in the mood for love Better days for love are likely on July 13th and 31st. Challenging days for romance are more likely on July 10th, 21st, and 29th.

Leo

Your love life continues to feel fresh and exciting this month, dear Leo. However, July brings you a little closer to reality. You are beginning to see some kinks in your plans, but these only serve to keep your expectations from going through the roof. That’s truly where you want to be–on solid ground. Until the 10th, Venus continues to move through your sign, and you are feeling self-indulgent, attractive, and very loving. Pampering yourself is in order! It’s a good time for socializing and making sure others feel this extra magnetic appeal too. Until the 21st, however, you might feel a little reclusive as you rest up for more outgoing days ahead. After the 21st, you are feeling more self-expressive and confident. Opportunities for love continue to arise in situations outside of your normal routine, so don’t turn down invitations to venture away from the usual hang-outs. A partner who has a unique perspective on life is what turns your head. Still, security and comfort become especially attractive to you this month, so a love interest who is familiar or comfortable in his/her own skin is most appealing.  Better days for love are July 5th, 16th, 23rd, and 26th; more challenging times for love could arrive on the 8-10 and 22nd.

Virgo

A strong month for love and romance is in store for you, dear Virgo. From the 10-29, loving Venus, fiery Mars, and sexy Eros all occupy your sign. This doesn’t happen often, so take advantage! You are feeling amorous, attractive, and more confident in July. You are able to assert yourself and make your desires known without feeling guilty. Energy levels run high. It’s likely to be a sociable month with a Solar Eclipse occurring in your friendship sector, stimulating you to make changes in how you approach the world around you. Increased involvement with friends and groups can be especially inspiring these days. Saturn has been in your sign on and off (mostly on) since 2007, and is now leaving it. This takes some of the pressure off as well as some of the extra weight you have been carrying that may have interfered with expressing yourself spontaneously. You are likely to find yourself especially attracted to people with good manners, who are balanced and patient, and who treat others fairly. Equality in relationships is becoming especially important to you. Better days for love are likely on July 3rd, 5-6, 13th, 21st, and 31st. Potentially more challenging days for love occur on July 8th, 10th, and 26-27.
