ErosScopes: December 2010 Love Horoscopes for Aries to Virgo

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. The Moon shows our underlying emotional needs that can express themselves as sexual fantasies and needs.

While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Also, sometimes I have more to say for some signs, simply because more astrological activity is taking place that is related to relationships for that sign this month (or because I am digressing!). This does not mean I am biased towards any particular sign.

December 2010 ErosScopes – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo

Aries

The physical-emotional expression of affection counts for much for you this month, dear Aries with Venus moving through your intimacy sector throughout December. Sharing on deeper levels is your desire. Some possessiveness is possible now, as you can have an “all or nothing” attitude when it comes to love, and is something to watch for. For the most part, however, it’s a good time for taking a relationship to a deeper level. A partner is clearer in his or her intentions. As the month progresses, you’re gearing up professionally and much of your attention turns to career pursuits. The only potential drawback with Mars and later the Sun in your career sector is that you can unwittingly push others away with a slightly more brusque or defensive manner. You’re more ambitious now, and could be dealing with a lot of work pressures, and it’s probably a good idea to keep this as separate as you can from your personal life. Stronger days for love are more likely on December 3rd, 6th, 8th, 13th, 18th, and 26th. December 23rd is a potentially more challenging day for love, and requires a little more sensitivity.

Taurus

Venus is moving through your partnership sector all month, dear Taurus, and it’s a time for peace-making. You are in the position to better understand a partner’s needs, and your conciliatory, approachable manner makes it easier for you to attract others. You are clearer about where you’re headed, and by extension, you are sending out clearer signals to a significant other. As the month progresses, you are a little bolder and adventurous in your sexual expression. More variety will help tame any restlessness that is stirred now. The retrograde of Mercury from the 10th to 30th can bring some backtracking to a romance. It’s not a good time for putting pressure on a love interest, especially around the 12-14 when an issue from your romantic past can emerge and stimulate a need for making important changes. Luckily you’re quite naturally flowing along this month, accepting things as they are. A little patience will go a long way. Stronger days for love in December are likely on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, 13th, and 20th. The 19th, 23rd, and 28th might be trickier.

Gemini

All month, Venus is moving through Scorpio and your work/health sector, dear Gemini. This may not be the strongest month for love – it’s not likely to be smooth and flowing. You can improve relations by focusing on the little things that need attention, as you’re more tuned in to details. However, a New Moon in your partnership sector on the 5th brings powerful energy for starting fresh in a relationship. Shortly after, Mars leaves your partnership sector and enters your intimacy sector, taking some of the overt pressure off a relationship. You are focusing on deeper interactions now. The 12-14 can bring some pressure to an intimate relationship, perhaps to make a decision, although this can also play out with finances. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 21st occurs in your sign, and it’s a time of heightened emotions. A revelation from or about a partner is possible around the eclipse or in the weeks following it. A relationship matter can come to a head. Stronger days for love and attraction this month are likely to be December 1st, 10th, and 20th, while more challenging days are likely to be December 16th, 19th, and 21st.

Cancer

Venus is moving through your romance sector all month, and this bodes well for romantic relationships, casual dating, and your powers of attraction in December, dear Cancer. Your reactions and your manner quite naturally attract pleasing, harmonious experiences. Committed partnerships require more sensitivity. Mercury is retrograde in your partnership sector from the 10-18th. An interesting configuration occurs in your partnership sector (in the sign opposite yours) from the 12-15th. Mars, Pluto, the North Node and Mercury are travelling close to one another, and circumstances are such that you are pulled out of your comfort zone during this period. Leo

Especially until the 7th, romance is hot and stimulating. From the 21st onward, you’re not feeling as bold when it comes to affairs of the heart. Venus moving through your home and family sector points to some nostalgic feelings in love, although now that Venus is direct and gaining speed, you’re no longer dwelling on the past. You’re expressing your affections selectively and carefully, even if your outward manner is playful. For those of you in committed partnerships, the fact that the ruler of your partnership sector is turning direct on the 5th helps to bring a forward-looking energy to your relationship. A partner is gaining confidence. Experimentation in your intimate life has been part of your life for some time, and now you’re in a stage of processing your new experiences and learning from them. More maturity comes in this area of life — you’re no longer reacting or acting out. The Lunar Eclipse on the 21st brings illumination and possibly some drama to a friendship or romance. Better days for love for you this month are likely to be December 5-6. The 16th and 18th require more care.

Virgo

Last month, Jupiter turned direct in your partnership sector, and on December 5th, Uranus does as well. Both of these planets are finishing up their transits of this sector in the coming months. The learning experiences you have had with committed partnerships in recent years are being crystallized and processed. Relationships have been unpredictable, and there has been some experimentation with the “rules” of partnering. Restrictive ties may have been severed. Now you’re tying up loose ends and processing your experiences, gaining a better understanding about where you stand when it comes to close partnerships and commitments. This month, both Venus (all month) and Mars (from the 7th) are traveling in harmony with your sign, and this bodes well for your powers of attraction. Mars is in your romance sector from the 7th and Eros is there too from the 14th, bringing easy energy for going after what or who you want.
