ErosScopes: August 2010 Love Horoscopes for Aries to Virgo

Horoscopes for the month ahead, with a focus on love, sex, romance, and style.

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. The Moon shows our underlying emotional needs that can express themselves as sexual fantasies and needs.

While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Also, sometimes I have more to say for some signs, simply because more astrological activity is taking place that is related to relationships for that sign this month (or because I am digressing!). This does not mean I am biased towards any particular sign.

August 2010 ErosScopes – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo

Aries

Much activity in the love and relationship department is promised this month, dear Aries. The first week of August brings challenging energy for all of us, and for you, pressures from others and your career. The 8th brings an awareness for the need for structure in a partnership, or the awareness of lack. The 9th brings fresh energy for romance as you begin a new cycle and aim to start anew. For some, a new romance is upcoming, and for other Aries, a fresh attitude about how they approach their love lives is now taken on. There’s no time for discouragement getting in the way of attracting who and what you want. It’s time to take charge. Resolve now to pursue a more rewarding love life. With lovely Venus moving out of your work sector and into your partnership sector on the 6th, and staying there until September 8th, you are feeling more romantic. Venus bring sweetness to your manner and to a partnership. Considerate attention to a partner is on the agenda. Treat others exactly how you would like to be treated, and they will return the favor. However, Mars is also moving through your partnership sector all month, stirring things up and assuring that any problems that have been swept under the carpet will come to the surface for resolve. Attraction to older or more mature partners is possible this month, as you reassess your relationship needs. A past love may step forward around the 20th, but save decision making for later. Better days for love in August are the 11th, 20th, 26th, and 28th; more challenging days for love are possible on the 1st, 6-7th, 21st, and 23rd.

Taurus

In August, dear Taurus, you are coming out of a romantic and playful period and into a more practical one when it comes to love. Mars is in Libra all month, and both Eros and Venus move into Libra on the 6th and 7th. This points to the need for adjustments in your romantic world. You begin to focus on the little things that make a relationship work, and this can be quite positive if you don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. You may not be feeling quite as confident in love, or you could be finding flaws in the relationships you’ve developed last month. In terms of love opportunities, they are more likely to arise through your daily interactions at work or even while pursuing health and fitness programs. The 20th could bring feelings for someone to light, but the 20th also begins a period of Mercury retrograde in your romance sector that lasts until September 12th. Re-thinking the suitability of your romantic relationships is possible now, there may be a need to revisit old issues with a lover, a past love could reappear, or there could be some communication problems. It might seem like stagnation, but it’s actually a period of review, reflection, and rest. It’s a good time to take the pressure off your romantic life. Better days for love in August are likely to be the 11th, 20th, 28th, and 31st; while more challenging days could be the 4th, 6-7th, and 10th.

Gemini

All month, dear Gemini, fiery Mars energizes your romance sector. This can point to a pleasantly stimulating time when you’re ready to go after what you want in love. In some cases, Mars here can pull up strife, but typically it brings problems that have been brewing in an existing love relationship to the surface in order to clear the air. Saturn’s presence in your romance sector suggests taking relationship matters quite seriously, but with Venus and Eros making their appearance here from the 6th and 7th, your chances of smoothing out differences and getting to a fair agreement run very high. First things first, on the 7th and 8th there is a need to make things clear, and there could even be some ultimatums, after which you can simply enjoy one another’s company. The 20th could bring complicated love feelings to light. Relationships that are unbalanced or unfair need to be worked on this month, and you have all the tools at your disposal to do so. You are both charming and assertive in August, and you’re also giving off a pleasingly responsible aura. From the 20th, you could be giving off mixed signals, however. It’s not the time to make quick decisions. A stronger day for love occurs on the 11th. August 6th, 9th, and 20th are potentially more challenging ones in the love department.

Cancer

Feeling secure is a driving force for you when it comes to love relationships, dear Cancer. This is generally the case for you, but even more so this month. You are less likely to try out something new, and more focused on past and present relationships in August. For the time being, you are building up your confidence, and any hesitancy about starting fresh or pushing forward in the romance department is quite natural for you at this time. Familiarity is especially important to you in love. Anyone trying to win  your attention romantically speaking would be wise to keep things quiet, traditional, and free of pressure. You are taking your time, and this is natural. The only caution here is that clinging to past behaviors is not going to do any good. Reviewing your love life and your needs is the way to go. Dates that appeal most, for the time being, are familiar ones or those that keep you close to home. Next month, you are  more likely to come out of your shell and “live in the moment”.  In August, observe, listen, and review. Find strength in what you already have. Better days for love are likely on August 11th, 20th, 28th, and 30-31. Challenging days for romance are more likely on August 4th, 6th, and 10th.

Leo

Your sunny personality is in the spotlight this month with the Sun in your sign until the 23rd and the New Moon in Leo on the 9th. The first week of the month can bring some challenges with a casual love affair in the form of more intense demands or complications, after which love is more light-hearted. Communication is the key in August. You are especially magnetic when it comes to how you express yourself. Love opportunities can come through the written word, over the telephone or internet, and through neighborhood events and learning environments. There is likely to be much talk about fairness and equality in your relationships, although not necessarily action to back it up quite yet! For those already coupled, you’ll be wanting to keep things on the move and busy, and there could be some especially fun communications between the two of you. Your partnership sector is ruled by Uranus, and Uranus, in retrograde motion, moves back into Pisces on the 13th. This can in some cases point to a committed partner returning to a previous condition or point of view. He or she may not be quite as easy to understand for the time being. Better days for love are likely to be August 11th and 19th; more challenging times for love could arrive on the 6-7th, 9-10th, 20-21, and 24th.

Virgo

Until the 6th/7th, Venus and Eros continue to occupy your sign, dear Virgo, augmenting your physical and personal magnetism and putting you in the spotlight. Others are quite naturally drawn to you during this cycle. After these dates, Venus and Eros join Mars and Saturn in your solar second house, and love becomes less dynamic or insistent. Your own needs from love revolve more around sensual pleasure and hands-on expressions of love, as well as comfort and security through to the end of August.  Saturn is already occupying your solar second house, and will stay in this sector for a couple of years. As the ruler of your romance sector, Saturn here brings a much stronger need for security and familiarity in your love life, which can sometimes be at odds with Pluto’s presence in your romance sector, which is bringing some changes and evolutions in your desires. The 20th marks the beginning of Mercury’s retrograde cycle in your own sign. This cycle will continue until September 12th, and can point to some level of withdrawal. You are taking more time to come to decisions, and this is a natural process. It’s not the time to push forward just yet, even with the Sun entering your sign on the 23rd. Be aware that you may be giving off some mixed signals. Better days for love are likely on August 8th, 10-11, 20th, 23rd, and 30th. Potentially more challenging days for love occur on August 4th, 6th, 16th, and 19th.
