The last time I made an entry in my previous blog, it was November 2005. I’ve decided to start over again, prompted by an email from a reader (only one request in almost a year! but that’s enough for me) asking what happened to my blog. Since the last entry almost a year ago, Cafe Astrology has of course grown with more interpretations, expanded horoscopes, new types of horoscopes, new articles, and features. One of my favorite new features on the site is the Daily Trends Calendar. The Daily Trends “What’s In Store by the Stars”, featured on the main page and in the feature, This Week in Astrology, has been enhanced with more interpretations of the day’s planetary influences, and is now available in calendar format.
A note about the Mercury-Mars conjunction in Libra: I write about the planetary trends daily, and I also write about the stand-out trends in the Monthly Horoscopes, but sometimes the busy pace of my life puts me into automatic pilot, and I forget about some of the things that I have written. The Mercury-Mars conjunction occurred in early Libra, early in my seventh house, and in challenging aspect to Saturn, last week. Without thinking about what I had written regarding this influence, I found myself vigorously trying to get my point across to a close friend, in a very short window of time, and failing to win my friend over to my point of view. I was frustrated, and that was not unusual. I can sometimes get into a state of “over-zeal”. However, I was more than frustrated–I was downright angry and completely impatient about re-opening the “discussion”. I was so animated that I could barely recognize myself. It was only later that I remembered everything that I had written about the configuration. At that point, I decided to drop the debate completely. If it comes up again, I will revisit it. But for now, I realize that with Mercury and Mars still animating my seventh house, I’m simply going to come on too strong and stress myself out unduly. This is a little example of how attention to the influences on our charts can help us to understand our behavior, and, more importantly, change it if it simply doesn’t feel healthy. For whatever reason, I feel I am better off for it.
