Horoscopes for the month ahead, with a focus on love, sex, romance, and style.

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. The Moon shows our underlying emotional needs that can express themselves as sexual fantasies and needs.

While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Please note: These horoscopes are more accurate for the Ascendant sign, so if you know it, read them for the sign of your Ascendant first, and the sign of your Sun second.

November 2009 ErosScopes – Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces

Libra

You are focusing on comfort, financial security, and pleasure for the most part in November, dear Libra. You are becoming increasingly aware of your responsibilities and limitations, and this is a trend that will last for a couple of years while Saturn occupies your sign. It’s a time of “growing up”, no matter what your age, and learning to take better care of yourself, your loved ones, and the major structures in your life. Others might notice a more serious tone to your personality, and some of you might feel others are not as supportive of you. Activities with friends and groups assume more importance in your life this month. In fact, love or partnering opportunities are more likely to occur through friends or group associations, and this is a trend that will last for many months to come. It is especially important for you, now and in the next few months, to feel a strong sense of camaraderie with a partner, as well as to share some visions and personal or social goals. You’re most focused on values this month, and differences in basic values, such as how you spend money or what you consider valuable in a friend, are more likely to be glaring for the time being. Better days for love this month are the 6th, 25th, and 27th; and more challenging days for love are more likely experienced on the 14th, 19th, and 24th.

Scorpio

Eros is moving forward in your romance sector, and this sector’s ruler, dreamy Neptune, is turning direct after months of retrograde motion. For some of you, a lover may be renewing his or her interest in you perhaps after a period of questioning, uncertainty, or disinterest. Certainly, you are becoming clearer in the romance department this month. Romance does continue to keep you on your toes, to keep you guessing, and to surprise you…but who likes who, who wants what, and so forth are clearer in November. With the ruler of your partnership sector in your first house from the 8th forward, you can expect a partner to have your best interests at heart. The Full Moon on the 2nd brings heightened emotions to a close personal relationship. November is a power month for you overall–the spotlight is on you, and you are feeling especially confident, focused, and ambitious. This is not to say that things are being handed to you by any means. In fact, a feeling of being blocked by others or by circumstances is likely with you now. However, this only serves to fuel your determination. After Venus, the goddess of love, enters your sign on the 8th, it’s a time of greater magnetic appeal for you–a time when the world seems to be appreciating your style. Better days for love are the 1-2 and 9th. More challenging days for love are likely to be the 19th, 21st, 24th, 26th, and 29th.

Sagittarius

Until the last week of the month, you are experiencing your yearly period of recuperation and rest, dear Sagittarius. It’s a time during which you may be re-evaluating many aspects of your life and deciding what it is that you may need to leave behind as a new cycle begins. While you are confident and assertive, you are also maintaining some distance from others as you get the rest you so deserve this month. It is natural for you to analyze what is working for you and what isn’t until the 23rd, after which you are more communicative and expressive, certain of your goals, and desirous of turning over a new leaf. Love feels especially private from the 8th, but you are also enjoying a new sense of adventure and even a taste of the exotic in your love life these days. In fact, with Mars, the ruler of your romance sector, in your solar ninth house for an extended period of time (until June 2010), you are likely to enjoy opportunities for romance when you are taking part in activities outside of your normal routine, through travel, or through higher education. Falling for someone of an entirely different cultural background than you is quite possible in this phase of your life, although November is likely to be reserved when it comes to romance and expression of love. A partner has your best interests at heart from the 16th forward. The 20th, 26th, and 29th are the more harmonious days for love in November, while the 1st, 8th, 19th, and 23rd are a little more challenging.

Capricorn

You are bound to enjoy a more animated and vivid intimate life this month and for some months to come, dear Capricorn. While you are likely more passionate and open to expressing deep and even raw emotion with a special someone these days, you also have to watch for a tendency to make too much out of nothing as you look for hidden meanings. Arguments over who does what, or more likely how much each of you gives, sharing, and money can figure, more likely while Mars is retrograde December 20th to March 10th, but you might keep alert now to vulnerable areas in your intimate relationships. Group activities, friendships, and networking come into strong focus this month. More altruistic than professional goals are occupying your thoughts. Nevertheless, a restructuring of your attitude towards your professional responsibilities is a long-term trend–it’s simply not as urgent a matter to you now. Romantic relationships are emotional around the 2nd. After the 8th, however, love matters are considerably lighter and easier. A lover might be friendlier if detached. Communications really open up this month, and you might find you’re most effective at expressing your feelings through the written or spoken word now. I can’t find any stand-out days for love; the 19th, 21st, and 24th are likely to be more challenging days for love in November.

Aquarius

More assertive, aggressive, and animated energy in your close personal relationships continues this month, dear Aquarius. Love might be complicated this month, although invigorating and certainly never boring! With Mars in your opposite sign now and for an extended stay (until June 2010), you’ll be dealing with issues of assertiveness, aggression, and anger in one-to-one partnerships for some time. Mars will be retrograde from December 20th to March 10th, opposite your sign, and these matters might become big issues in your life then. Confusion about the motives of a close partner, dealing with passive-aggressive behavior in a relationship, or dealing with a dampening of enthusiasm are possibilities. Now is the time to keep alert to vulnerable areas in your close interactions. A big focus on career is in store for you in the first three weeks of November, dear Aquarius, after which professional pressures ease. While the spotlight is on your performance, it’s not altogether uncomfortable. In fact, others are bound to find you especially attractive, personable, and approachable on the job, particularly after the 8th. Partnership or social opportunities through business may present themselves during this cycle. The better days for love in November for you are the 5-6, 11th, and 25th, while more challenging days for matters of the heart are more likely on the 2nd and 30th. The 14th can bring surprises that are ultimately fun and growth-oriented.

Pisces

You are feeling more confident, clear-headed, and even impassioned this month, dear Pisces. Others are likely to notice your “spark” or joie de vivre returning, as you are coming into touch with that which makes you “happy to be alive” after months of not being very certain. Any lovers and partners in your life will certainly appreciate your renewed interest (some might even be breathing a sigh of relief!); and new love interests are also going to be taking note. You have a pleasant feeling that matters are moving forward in your life in November. Pressures are easing, your confidence is building, and the important people in your life are supportive. Less focus on the flaws of your relationships and more focus on the “big picture” keeps romance lively and stimulating. The need to pull yourself out of the rut of a routine in your relationships is apparent now, and in fact is likely to come naturally. Any kind of adventure-seeking activity, however big or small, is sure to improve existing relationships, and for singles, will expose you to more romantic opportunities. November 2nd, 20th, and 29th are easier days for love, while the 8th, 11th, and 26th are likely to be more challenging.

November 2009 ErosScopes – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo

Aries

There is a serious, intense tone in your life this month, dear Aries. In general, you are more critical and flaw-finding when it comes to your close relationships these days, and some of you are facing loneliness, whether you’re in a partnership or not! You will be sorting it out over time, and patience is the key. This month, the old adage, “there’s a fine line between love and hate” might be especially applicable. You are dealing with many emotions that have previously been buried. It’s a time for ridding yourself of excess baggage, whether it’s physical or emotional (or both). Reaching inside of yourself and pulling out your strength is necessary now. Your energy levels are certainly high, and many of you are experiencing some level of aggressiveness in your love life, whether it’s you who is coming on strong or a lover. You’ll have plenty of time to work through these themes over the next few months with assertive Mars in your romance and pleasure sector for an extended stay. At the same time, many of you will be redefining what it is exactly that feeds your flame, that ignites your passions, and will discover it shortly after the New Year begins, with Eros enters your sign. Better days for love are the 9th and 26th; more challenging ones are likely on the 13th, 19th, and 24th.

Taurus

November is a month in which your personal plans and desires tend to be on the backburner, dear Taurus! While you may not be feeling especially supported, the good news is that it’s a strong month to take on a supportive role and to come to agreements that really are due, and perhaps overdue. There’s a big focus on conversations, negotiations, agreements, and compromises this month. Home life is demanding, for certain, and although it’s not quite as busy on the job as it was last month, you are certainly thinking a lot about your work and recognizing that long-term decisions need to be made. Overall, November requires consideration to what is just and what is fair, and meeting a special someone halfway is the best route to success. You might be meeting with especially strong personalities now, or a partner is more assertive. The Full Moon on the 2nd occurs in your sign, and exposure is the theme. Sometimes it’s of the pleasant variety, sometimes unpleasant, but almost certainly surprising. An opportunity for a partnership or joint venture is possible in the third week of the month. However, roadblocks are likely from the 16-23. Better days for love are the 9th and 26th; challenges in love are more likely on the 19, 21, 24, and 29.

Gemini

A sense of getting down to business is likely in November, dear Gemini. You’ll find that life is busy and perhaps hectic at times, but the work you tackle now will certainly allow you more freedom to enjoy yourself later. On a romantic level, there are likely to be some challenges, intimacy problems, and certainly a more serious tone. Lack of intimacy or other flaws in casual relationships may seem glaring right now. Superficial interactions simply are not satisfying either you or a partner. Still, practical matters are also important to you, as you pay much attention to viability and realism in any love relationship. Some of you might find opportunities for romance on the job or through work. Relationships become more supportive by the last week of November. The need to talk things through and get yourselves “on the same page” is apparent now. Stronger days for love occur on the 20-21 and 29th. More challenging days for love are the 8th, 10th, and 23-24.

Cancer

While November is not the strongest month in general, astrologically speaking, it is a little better for you with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus visiting your playful, creative, and romantic solar fifth house. The desire for “play time” is certainly with you this month, and, for the most part, your powers of attraction are running high. However, the ruler of your opposite sign, Saturn, forms a tense aspect with Pluto, which rules your romantic sector this month, pointing to demanding, changeable, and perhaps frustrating relationship issues that need to be dealt with this month. It’s natural for you to gravitate towards like-minded and like-hearted people—and vice versa. You begin to feel more playful and flirtatious with your affections, and others respond warmly. With Eros retrograde in your solar eleventh house, you are a little detached on a sexual level for the time being. You are more intrigued by the unusual, finding variety as well as freedom most exciting in your sex life during this cycle. You’ve been struggling with the desire to be free to choose who you want to spend time with and the pressures from a romantic relationship. The need to express yourself freely through the people you associate with is a strong urge, but your commitments and responsibilities to a love relationship are impossible to ignore. Finding a balance between these two needs/desires is important this month. Re-thinking the suitability of your job and/or romantic relationships is possible while Mercury is retrograde from the 7-29, but you should avoid jumping to any premature decisions. Both you and a lover should avoid harping on the words used to express yourself and try to get to the meaning behind the words instead. The 19-20 are stronger days for love and romance; the 14-15 is likely to bring some fireworks.

Gemini

Until the 20th, Venus is gracing your communications sector, and good companionship is as equally important to you as romance during this cycle. You prefer an intellectual, communicative, and witty partner right now. During this cycle, you are most attracted to wit, cheerfulness, and verbal rapport in a romantic relationship. You are especially good at mediating conflicts now, although Mercury’s retrograde from the 7-29 might muddy things up a little. It is best to avoid intense conversations, as misunderstandings are very likely. You’re likely sending off mixed signals without even knowing it. A more sentimental Venus cycle is entered on the 20th, when sensitivity and loyalty are more important to you in matters of the heart. You have been experiencing pressures from family and personal responsibilities, and at the same time, career matters are insecure or uncertain. Whether or not to branch out professionally is a question now, but getting your priorities in order on the domestic front is also necessary, or you won’t have the confidence to move forward and take risks. A lover should be aware of your need to make things right on the home front this month. The 19th and 24th are better days for love, although surprises are in store and you can’t rely upon things working out according to plans. Flexibility is a must! Stickier days for the expression of affection are the 11-12, 14th, and 28-30.

Cancer

With Mars in your sign all month, dear Cancer, the desire to take charge of your life is strong. You are spunkier and more assertive, a little more independent than usual, and considerably more energetic. Nevertheless, September is a challenging month for all signs, and it will be especially helpful for you to know what it is you want from life before you boldly move forward, or you might find yourself spinning wheels. Your need for healthy and light social interaction is clear, but misunderstandings are also likely, particularly from the 7-29, when Mercury is retrograde. Pressures surrounding day to day activities mount, while the desire to expand your horizons freely is also strong. Restlessness is likely, as the need to freely move about, explore, and find adventure in your life is powerful but also challenged. Committed love is complicated this month, as a partner is feeling uncertain and perhaps pressured to make changes or to break free from limiting circumstances. Patience is in order. A serious discussion mid-month helps to renew your focus on what is most important in your life. Conversations often turn to the past, but they’re going in circles, which can be frustrating. The 20th is a better day for love matters, while the 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 30th are more challenging.

Leo

September is a month in which your desire for pleasure and comfort tends to rule, dear Leo. The goddess of Love, Venus, is occupying your sign until the 20th, and you’ll find that others are especially appreciative of your sense of style. A strong desire for companionship dominates. You prefer the company of others, rather than going it alone. Others notice and perhaps admire you for your pleasant demeanor, which feeds your ego and renews your spirit in turn. Although you are typically a straightforward go-getter, this month you’re in a more receptive state, taking a little extra downtime and perhaps engaging in more private activities and passions. In fact, as charming as you can be, there is also a bit of a brooding quality to you these days. Energies are fluctuating, and you might find that you’re quite indecisive. Mars entering your sign mid- October should change that. For now, take it easy and make plans. The need for intense interchanges with a lover has been strong for some time now, and this month, it can be a real challenge realizing this desire, particularly around the Full Moon on the 4th, when your awareness of this lack in your life is most powerful. Financial pressures might complicate matters, particularly if a partner’s contribution is erratic or unreliable. It can be hard to keep intimacy separate from more mundane concerns, but it’s worth trying. The 16th, and 20th are better days for love matters; the 4th, 11th, 14th, 16-17, 25th, and 29th are more challenging.

Virgo

While you are feeling energetic and more in control than you have been recently, dear Virgo, September brings its fair share of challenges. Increased personal responsibilities and unexpected changes of course figure now. A partner might be hard to rely upon. Relationship tests or challenges arise around the Full Moon on the 4th. With Mercury retrograde from the 7-29, others may misinterpret your body language, and you should be aware of a tendency to give off mixed signals. Don’t worry too much if others aren’t quite “getting” you for the time being. You have been taking yourself more seriously, and feeling a lot of pressure, this year. Keep your sense of humor! Saturn on your Sun can also bring love and romance to you, ironically enough. This is because Saturn rules your romance sector. Inner changes and struggles are occurring at a dramatic pace. Recognize that as you listen to a bruised or misbehaving ego, you are prone to ignoring your deepest emotions, and as a result you may sever ties that later leave you wanting. You could be feeling critical of a partner, who seems to be erratic, irresponsible, or hard to rely upon. All of these changes are “designed” to awaken your senses to relationship patterns that are not serving your purpose well, and to personal traits that are not serving your relationships well. Venus entering your sign on the 20th helps you to feel a little more in control of your life. A new sense of purpose takes hold around the 18th. The 14-15, 23rd, and 28-30 are more challenging days for love and romance, while the 19th and 22nd are more pleasing.
