2010 Virgo Love Horoscope

Horoscopes for 2010, with a focus on love, sex, relationships, and romance: Virgo

Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turn-ons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

Please note: These horoscopes are more accurate for the Ascendant sign, so if you know it, read them for the sign of your Ascendant first, and the sign of your Sun second.

Virgo in 2010

Relationships play a big role in your life in 2010, dear Virgo. Your attitude towards casual love relationships continues to transform as you uncover your innermost needs and desires. As well, Jupiter will be traveling in your partnership sector much of the year, bringing fortuitous relationships into your life, and/or cleansing your life of toxic ones. Changes run deep this year.

Jupiter’s influence in your partnership sector suggests that many of you will be opening yourselves up to commitment and partnering, and deriving much pleasure and joy from a partnership. Although we consider Jupiter to be a largely happy influence, sometimes endings occur under its influence, but generally they are for the better good all around, or they lead to bigger and better things, if they do happen. Overall, committed partnerships fare better this year for you than casual relationships in 2010. New partners met now are likely to feel much like a breath of fresh air. Challenging relationships or challenges in relationships tend to be left behind for the most part during this cycle.

For many years, Uranus has been moving through your partnership sector, bringing change, experimentation, and perhaps instability and even upsets to your close relationships. Many of you have divorced or severed ties with long-term partners; others have had to redefine their relationships, rewriting them with a new “rule” to do away with rules, and while some have been successful, many of you have had to deal with a feeling of instability and a lack of support from important others. With Saturn just finishing its transit through your sign, the lessons have been hard but important–you now know you can rely on yourself, you are more responsible, and you are less dependent on a partner or relationship. Uranus is moving out of this position in your chart this year temporarily this summer, and then permanently in 2011, and the instability and changeful element in partnerships is going away, too! Uranus’ new position in your intimacy sector, starting this year, is certain to bring change, excitement, and experimentation to your sex life.

For those of you born late in the sign of Virgo, more challenges and tests are in store for you in 2010. Those born September 20-22 will continue to feel the additional burdens and responsibilities they encountered in the second half of 2009, and are learning about taking more responsibility for themselves. Uranus continues to challenge those born September 16-22 with unusual, exciting, and surprising elements in their partnerships. These challenges are finally resolved this year!

Jupiter and Uranus align twice this year, once in your intimacy sector in June, and once in your partnership sector in September. This brings sudden opportunities into your lives.

Your attitude towards casual love relationships is evolving again this year, as you continue to explore what it is that truly–and deeply–brings you the greatest pleasure. There is an internal struggle involved in this area this year, but the whole process is going to eventually be a rewarding one. Many of you are finding that you are more attracted to a stable lover who is willing to compromise. By nature, you are choosy when it comes to lovers, and this does not mean that you require people to meet up to exacting standards. Rather, it’s because you do generally take all love relationships, whether they are casual or not, to heart. It takes you time to warm up to people, and to trust them to share yourself intimately with. If you haven’t been listening to your inner voice when it comes to casual relationships, this year you are challenged to do so. Betrayals are possible; meeting with intense people or intense emotions within yourself; and also facing your deepest fears when it comes to sharing pleasures with people might figure in the year ahead–whatever it takes to get you closer to your own heart’s desire. It might feel like the reality you are facing these days is a tad too harsh, but it will eventually and ideally lead to a more mature understanding of your needs–and your capabilities–in love. Security and stability from a love partner are stronger needs this year. So are his or her ability to meet you halfway.

Your attitude towards sex is also on the verge of change. Starting this year, you are likely to experience a hint of what is to come, and many of you are opening yourselves up to deeper pleasures and experimentation.

Venus is retrograde this year from October 8-November 18, which affects all of us in general, mainly in the areas of love and finances. These matters are not straightforward during this period, and it is a time for reviewing our attitudes rather than forging ahead boldly into new love relationships or financial projects. Because this Venus retrograde cycle is not explicitly connected to romantic areas of your chart this time around, it’s likely to affect you a little less than it will affect many others.

The Mars retrograde that is with us at the beginning of 2010 up until March 10th is likely to impact your sex and intimate life since Mars is your intimacy sector ruler. During this period, re-examining your feelings for a partner is likely. You or a partner might not be as straightforward or easy to understand during this more introspective, cautious, and withdrawn cycle. You do stand to gain much from examining your own needs.

Mercury retrogrades in your romance sector in January at about the same time Venus transits the sector, and while Mars is also retrograde. This points to a strong desire for expressing yourself through love and romance, but not always an easy time doing so. You may be giving off mixed signals.

January 15th brings the great power of a Solar Eclipse in your romance sector, and it’s aligned with the goddess of love herself. This suggests a new beginning of sorts in a romantic relationship, and this fresh energy is with you for at least a few months to come. January 11-17 brings a real positive surge to your romantic life. At the very least, the charm and motivation are there. You will still need to iron out your differences regarding personal values with a partner.

With Mars occupying your twelfth house for an unusually long period of time (until June), energy levels are on the low side for many of you. However, it also links the eighth house and twelfth house, suggesting that for some of you, private sexual affairs could figure in your life in the first half of 2010.

There are four Mercury retrograde periods this year. Because Mercury is your ruler, and rules your professional sector, Mercury retrograde periods are always significant for you. Three of the 4 retrogrades this year affect your love relationships. From December 26/2009 to January 15/2010, Mercury is retrograde in your romance sector, and stalling is likely in your love life. Mechanics of getting together could be problematic. When Mercury is retrograde from August 20-September 12, it’s in your sign, so you could be giving off some serious mixed signals, you could be distant, and misunderstood. Take your time to figure things out, but try not to totally alienate others in the process! Part of the December 10-30 Mercury retrograde period occurs in your romance sector.

Eclipses this year are bringing elements of change and heightened emotions to your friendships and love relationships. The solar eclipse in January, as mentioned above, can bring a fresh start to a love relationship. A lunar eclipse in June suggests that a romantic affair may be tested. If love is true, there’s nothing to fear. The demands of your larger goals in life may have been eclipsing your pleasure-seeking activities, and this becomes glaringly apparent now. Also possible, your children may be going through their own changes and “stages”, and need more attention now.

Eros, the god of erotic love, is in your sign from July 2-August 6, and harmonizes with your sign from your romance sector from December 14-31. Your powers of attraction run very high during these cycles, but more in terms of you going after what you want than waiting for things to come to you. Sexual activity may be more frequent than usual. An impassioned attitude in general is with you.

Venus and Mars both occupy the sign of Virgo from July 11-29–coinciding with Eros’ travels through your sign! While Venus and Mars never actually conjoin, it’s a smoldering combination for love, sex, and romance!

Key Periods in 2010:

From December 20, 2009 to March 2010, your intimacy ruler, Mars, is retrograde, signaling a period of introspection and reflection in your sex life, or it could also work on the level of finances with a partner and problems with them.

January 1-18, however, is a playful, lighthearted, and magnetic period for love, particularly for casual love affairs. Your powers of attraction run high. Love comes to you rather than your having to pursue it. Best days during this opportunity period are January 11-13. The Solar Eclipse on January 15th brings new and exciting energy to your casual love relationships.

From February 4-March 7, a partnership is especially warm, loving, and pleasurable. It’s a strong time for attracting or enhancing a serious relationship.

From March 7-31, you attract others like bee to honey with a mysterious, sensual aura that surrounds you. This is a period of the year that is most conducive to erotic pleasure and magnetism.

July 2-August 6 is a period in which your powers of attraction run very high, but more in terms of you going after what you want than waiting for things to come to you. Sexual activity may be more frequent than usual. An impassioned attitude in general is with you.

Venus is in your sign from July 10-August 7. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it.

In fact, July 11-29 is arguably the most exciting period for love, romance, and sex in 2010, when Venus, Mars, and Eros are all in Virgo. July 13 and 21st are the best days of this period!

October 8-November 18 is the Venus retrograde period. Don’t make any major decisions about love (and finances) during this cycle.

Romance picks up pace with Mars moving through your romance sector, from December 7-31.

Excellent forecast. Virgo is my Ascendant. I’m bookmarking this article :D

Hi, I’m a virgo (born on 21 sept. ) and I don’t know which article is more accurate : Virgo or Leo 2010 love forecatst (Leo is my ascendant sign). Which one I should read ? I ask this question because your 2009 Virgo forecast was more accurate for me than my Leo ascendant sign forecast. Thanks for your answer. I love your site :)

    • addicted says:

I’m not an astrologer but this is my guess -> Read Sun sign, and further narrow things down using ascendant and exact houses of your natal chart. However, ascendant and exact house systems only narrow things down but the actual meaning is in Sun sign. For example, as a virgo my partnership sign is Pices. However, according to my houses (calculated from ascendant), Pices falls in my 5th house i.e. love children creation etc. So, my partnership might have something to do with all these (i.e. love, children, creation etc). So, for instance if between Sep 2007 to Oct 2009 you had some problem with some partner then the exact house in which pices is enclosed (or uranus was at that moment) you can judge which kind of relationship that would have been.

      Malvinka,

There are elements in both Virgo and Leo horoscopes that will work for you, so I would continue to read both! If Virgo works for you most consistently, then stick with it. I’m glad you are enjoying the site…thank you! :)

  3. Malvinka says:

    @addicted

Thanks a lot for your answer. So you mean that I should look in which house Pisces works for me this year ?
You’re right, I had troubles between 2007-2009 and I hope it’s over…but considering that Virgo love forecast is not very positive this year, I’m a lil’ afraid of it lol…

  4. Fluorescent says:

Wow the Virgo horoscope for 2010 looks dramatic as a rollercoaster!! I’m a Virgo and in a bit of a love triangle so hope this year’s transits will help the situation….I can only hope.
I guess this year is really all about thinking of what you really want out of life and love :)

    • cafeastro says:

I wrote the Virgo horoscopes and I really don’t see it as negative overall, and certainly not in comparison to the other signs’ forecasts. In fact, most of us Virgos are catching a break after years of heavy planetary influences. The internal changes are because Pluto is in Capricorn and Virgo’s solar fifth house of romance, lovers, creativity, recreation, and children. Pluto in Capricorn is a helpful influence overall for Virgos, since Pluto is now harmonizing with Virgo, and Pluto will be in Capricorn for years to come. However, in the first half at least of 2010, Pluto is challenged for the most part, and also an eclipse occurs conjunct Pluto in June. That is the reason why changes may be felt as challenging this year, but should ultimately work out very well. Resisting change is not going to work in anyone’s favor this year. Overall, however, Virgo’s forecast is quite positive considering 2010 looks to be an uncertain, transitional year (for everyone).

        Hi Cafeastro,

        Thanx 4 ur reply :)

Already had a bad experince and hav been completely let down by another Virgo :( i guess its always the one u want that u’ll neva have ;) but remaining optimistic it’s only jan! I’ll smile while my heart is breaking lol!

        Looking forward to Feb’s scopes…. :)

P.s. I feel ur scopes r pretty well laid out in my humble opinion…thank you for ur service…and yes my natal chart has libra in venus but it’s not just sweet talk lol i really appreciate ur work :)

    • hi cafeastro,
i’ve been waiting 7 months for your forecast –

In fact, July 11-29 is arguably the most exciting period for love, romance, and sex in 2010, when Venus, Mars, and Eros are all in Virgo. July 13 and 21st are the best days of this period!

      - and now it’s almost here, and i’m psyched!

    • Turnips9 says:

Holy crap me too. September 18th was a huge day – that whole weekend actually. The love triangle thing really came to a head on that day. It’s so creepy how accurate these forecasts are!

  5. Malvinka says:

You’re right Fluorescent…Peronaly I’m fed up with dramas. But I think you should read other horoscope sites too, for example Susan Miller has got a monthly horoscope page and she is not so negative, though she’s a very famous astrologer.

    • addicted says:

      @Malvinka
You can read as many website as you like. One thing is for sure. They are saying only one thing in different ways: some coat it with sugar/honey; other, tell you the way it is – but they are saying same thing. Still, you might, however, can get things wrong because they don’t know your personal chart. They are talking in general. You wanna make sense out of it then open your chart on one window, read their interpretation for what planet is in which house. Firstly place that planet in that house in your chart (which would mean read that the horoscope of that sign where that planet is in the house as in your chart). For example, Mars is in Leo would mean that for virgos it’s in their 12th house. However, according to your birth chart it might be in your 10th house. In which case read Libra’s horoscope to see the effects of mars in 10th house. Then come back to your chart and find out the effect of that planet in the houses of your chart:(arena where the action is currently: where the planet is currently transiting; reason/start/basis: the house where the planet was on your birth; what all is going to be effected by it: the house naturally ruled by that planet).
      ciao

    • cafeastro says:

      Malvinka,

There are many different horoscopes available and it’s always a good idea to find the ones that you are most comfortable with.

I have received so very much feedback about mine over the years and the only thing I have concluded is that I just can’t please everyone! Some people think I am too positive, others think I am too negative, and others think it’s just right. (Goldilocks and the Three Bears is coming to mind lol).

The cool thing is that most of them are free, so you can gravitate towards the authors that speak most to you, or that speak in the language you are most comfortable with, without spending anything.

It’s funny because I am a Virgo myself, and, over the years, the most criticized sign on the site is Virgo according to site feedback. I have tried but I can’t see how I am harsher on Virgos than on other signs. I just can’t see it! I adore the sign. :)

No doubt about it, the last couple of years have been heavy for the mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces – and that pressure is definitely easing with Saturn and Uranus leaving the mutable signs this year and the next.

      Annie

      • Malvinka says:

        Hi Annie,

Maybe I was criticising (I really don’t know lol, I don’t feel it like that).
I’m just afraid of getting divorced – and I must say that I read soooo many 2010 horoscopes which predict divorce for Virgos…

If I didn’t like your site and didn’t believe you, I wouldn’t put it in my bookmark ;)

        Best regards Annie

        • cafeastro says:

          Malvinka,

What I was writing regarding the sign of Virgo being criticized on the site was really just an aside, and I am sorry if my rambling got you thinking that I feel you were criticizing. I always found it a bit funny when I received emails stating that I must not like Virgos very much, since I am one! So I was just sharing that with you. You said nothing of the sort!

However, I think maybe the tone of my comment was a tad defensive, and I apologize for that. I have to admit that my back is up a little these days, and it’s largely because I have been late with some of the 2010 work, and emails pour in about it. Very few of them are nice. lol. I am getting myself back on my feet after some challenging months, and doing my best to catch up. I’m almost there.

Regarding the possibility of divorce for Virgos in 2010, I think this has to do with the Saturn-Uranus opposition that was active last year and will pass for the last time this year. It has been occurring in the signs of Virgo and Pisces, and will move out of these signs in 2010, but return one last time this year. In other words, it’s a long-term transit that ends this year. Resolutions of the conflicts you’ve been experiencing recently will occur in the first half of 2010, and then we move forward. Saturn-Uranus has been much like a see-saw ride, and it’s been hard to come to any kind of decision, particularly regarding close relationships for Virgos and Pisces.

You have Jupiter in your partnership sector much of the year, which ideally has a protective influence on close partnerships. I don’t think divorce is as much in the stars as it may have been last year.

Most importantly, a horoscope for your Sun sign or for your Ascendant sign is not going to give you the full picture, by all means. We’re always talking about possibilities and potentials, and this should never be forgotten. Horoscopes can help you to stay alert to signs of problems and opportunities, and that’s what the intention is behind mine, but try not to fear some of the more negative possibilities that they might be suggesting.

Thanks so much, Malvinka, for your reply. I really appreciate it!

          Annie

          • Malvinka says:

Woww thanks for your long answer, I really appreciate it !
Everything about Uranus-Saturn Jupiter stuff is so true ! It’s hard to come to any decision indeed. I’d like to be free and live my life in another way, on the other hand I’m afraid of being alone and have a new life (actually, I’m not happy in my marriage)- I should go back in my country after a marriage and start everything from zero.
I’ll tell you later on this year the end of my Virgo story :)

I wish you all the best.

  6. Laurus Nobilis says:

I have a question about the deemed decanates:
I know my Sun sign is in Scorpio (11-16) and my Rising in Virgo, so do I belong in the decanate of Sept 13-23 or whatnot?

    • addicted says:

You might like to generate your birth chart on this website (but may be you might like to use astrotheme.com for an interactive type of birth chart). See your ascendant starts from which degree of virgo. Then when you see the horoscope for ascendants there you have both dates and degrees.

Aside from the above, however, while horoscopes can give you a good idea. You might like to have actually your birth chart generated and in front of you when you read your horoscope. The reason is that generally houses are composed of 30 degrees, and horoscopes are based on that. However, your houses might be of varying degrees, and therefore when the horoscope says ‘lunar eclipse in your ninth house’, it might actually be in your eighth house.

    • cafeastro says:

The decanate for Virgo is defined by what degree of Virgo is your Ascendant. If it’s 0-10 degrees, that’s the first decanate. If it’s 10-20 degrees, it’s in the second decanate, and if it’s 20-30 degrees, it’s in the third decanate.

  7. Sandi says:

Great post for Virgo 2010…although I could do with less upheavals *lol* Only disappointment I have with the site is that they haven’t posted the 2010 Yearly Overview (general). Lovescopes are great, but it’s Jan 17 and the site still says ‘Coming Soon’ for an overview :(

  8. sophia says:

I thought the same until I saw the general overview on Cafeastrology.com!

    • Sandi says:

If you look at past years, there’s the overview and then the details for the year (check out ’09′s as an example). They got the overviews up and then started building in details with ‘more to come, thanks for your patience’ at the end of each one. ‘Tis end of January now and still more to come *lol* Not sure why it’s taking so long to add this when the ‘love site’ seems to be getting constant updates. Would think 2010 forecast should be ready for first week of January sorta thing. Ah well. :/

  9. Jen Jen says:

Thats crazy that almost all virgos that posted have had a difficult time during 2007-2009. Just more proof that the stars, moon, and universe cycles rally impact us at large. I am also a virgo, with a picses ascendant I have a really hard time at reading my forecasts since they are completely opposite but i know that 2007-2009 has been extremely difficult for me and I hope 2010 brings me luck in love and life because i think its about time virgos recieved some help!

  10. cafeastro,

Okay so I’m a TRIPLE Virgo, yes basically a freak perfetionist! My moon sign is virgo, my ascendent is in virgo, and my desendent is in virgo. Oh wait, my mercury is in virgo too! Oh no does that count even more?! I was born on September 3rd, 1986 at sunrise 6:20 a.m. How common is this? Also, since I have all of these strong virgo energies, does this make a general virgo horoscope even more accurate for me?

  11. Kahuna says:

I’m a hardcore Virgo (sept 9) and I have been in pain over my breakup that took place in March. It seems like it will be a good year. If people just learn not to push love on Virgos, life would be great

    • cafeastro says:

You’re right – I think Virgos are naturally a little reticent about giving their heart to someone, and they respond best to patience in a lover.

  12. perfectionist says:

Cafeastro, you never answered my question! :(

Okay so I’m a TRIPLE Virgo, yes basically a freak perfetionist! My moon sign is virgo, my ascendent is in virgo, and my desendent is in virgo(and of course my sun also does that mean quadruple??
). Oh wait, my mercury is in virgo too! Oh no does that count even more?! I was born on September 3rd, 1986 at sunrise 6:20 a.m. On a new moon! How common is this? Also, since I have all of these strong virgo energies, does this make a general virgo horoscope even more accurate for me?

  13. Jo says:

    Hi Malvinka

Just wondering when Uranus will finally move out of Virgo and give us some good love vibes. Hanging out for a bit of help from the universe!

    xx

  14. Yvonne 28 says:

The comment that the world would be just great if we didnt push love on to Virgos I have just spent 4 years with a virgo that has barely shown any love at all please tell me if you virgos feel so bad about showing love why enter in to a relationship and make everyone else misrable what rite have you to do so then u have the cheek to moan about it you want to see it from where we stand its hell. Just give it a miss and be done with it.

  15. KoolioGirl says:
