Scorpio
2009 brings a strong appreciation for, as well as improvement in, your home life and family. With Jupiter, the planet of abundance, moving through your home and family sector virtually all year, 2009 is bound to bring pleasure, bounty, and expansion to this area of your life. It’s a year in which you rediscover your roots and work on loving yourself from the bottom up.
Uranus continues to enliven, shake up, and bring changes to your romantic life. For those born November 11-19 in particular, pleasant excitement on a romantic level is in store. Your more quirky and original characteristics are appreciated more than usual. You feel a little freer in expressing your playful side, and others warm up to you more readily as a result.
Last year, your ruler, Pluto, flirted with the sign of Capricorn. This year, Pluto is solidly in this earthy and practical sign, and will be for many years to come. Those born early in the sign of Scorpio (October 23-26) will benefit from a Pluto transiting sextile to their Sun–a liberating experience. You are becoming more resolute, determined, and courageous. You are more able to free yourself from limiting personal habits. Relationships are improved as you feel stronger and more comfortable in your own skin.
A lover this year is likely quite home-oriented, and times spent tend to be cozy and comfortable. For single Scorpios looking for a casual romance, they are more likely to find one close to home. Saturn opposes Uranus in your romance sector at many points in 2009, however, and this is bound to shake things up a little. You might find that your friendships impact your romantic relationship, or the demands of others put some strain on it. Those who are married or in a committed partnership shouldn’t make any serious decisions while Venus is retrograde from March 6-April 17. It’s a period when you or a partner is reviewing the relationship, or your attitudes towards it. You might find that a partner is not as responsive or enthusiastic during this time. It’s better to just back off and let things happen naturally instead of pushing matters. Otherwise, partnering looks to be rather stable overall in 2009.
For most Scorpios, there won’t be any major changes in relationship status. Many are settling in. Casual love is unique–full of ups and downs and small changes. You are experimenting.
From June 6-July 5, both Venus and Mars are in your partnership sector, heating up a close partnership. Some Scorpios will meet a person during this period who could become a partner in the future. Already committed Scorpios will find this Venus-Mars period is a good one for spicing up a current relationship.
Eros travels through your romance sector much of the year, although part of that time, it is retrograde. Erotic impulses and themes are strong in your life in 2009. Eros is spicing up your love life from May 8-July 19, and from November 9th forward.
Key Periods in 2009:
January 3-February 3 is a playful, lighthearted, and magnetic period for love, particularly for casual love affairs. Your powers of attraction run high. Love comes to you rather than your having to pursue it.
March 6-April 17 is the Venus retrograde period. Because Venus rules your partnership sector, you might find relationship matters are stagnant or even seem to be moving backwards. A partner could seem distant. Lay low, review, and think about how to improve relationships, but don’t make any major decisions during this cycle.
April 18-22 is a time when your powers of attraction run high, particularly when you are taking on a more assertive and outgoing role.
Towards the end of this period, in the days surrounding April 21, a love opportunity arrives–grab it!
Mercury retrograde in your partnership sector from May 13-31 suggests some possible misunderstandings with a partner. You and a partner don’t say what you mean, or mean what you say! Take words spoken (or written) with a grain of salt.
From June 6-July 5, as mentioned above, Venus and Mars are in your partnership sector, bringing stimulation and excitement to partnerships. May 31-July 12 is a period of fireworks for partnerships–sometimes stimulating, but for some it could be like open warfare!
Venus is in your sign from November 8-December 1. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it.
From December 20, 2009 and into March 2010, your secondary ruler, Mars, is retrograde, signaling a period of review. It’s better not to push projects forward at this time.
