Eros was the god of erotic love. The position of the asteroid Eros in our charts points to our passion and erotic turnons. Mars shows us the style in which we go after what we want, including the ways in which we express our sexuality. Venus shows us some of the important “trappings” and foreplay that help us get in the mood for sex. While the positions of these planets and cosmic bodies in our natal charts remain static, their positions are always changing in the cosmos, activating houses and hotspots in our natal charts. The horoscopes presented here are necessarily general, as we are focusing on only the Sun sign or Ascendant, and how these sexual cosmic bodies are currently affecting the natal chart.

In 2009, much focus is on expanding your horizons and your experiences, travel, and higher education. This year, the major player affecting your romantic life is Saturn entering your fifth house at the end of October, but more on that later!
This year, a close partner is likely to be more outgoing, adventurous, and positive in spirit. For those hoping to meet a “significant other”, your best bet this year is while traveling, at school, or while taking a break from the routine. Strong periods for meeting someone “out of the blue” are towards the end of May, mid July, and in the last two weeks of December.
Your romantic life may hit a period of lull or retrospection while Venus, the ruler of your romance sector, is retrograde from March 6-April 17. Some of you may be reminiscing about, or in contact with, someone from the past which interferes with the present!
For those of you born early in the sign (May 21-24), Pluto is beginning its transit through your intimacy sector. This is a very long term influence that is designed to completely rework your attitude towards sharing and intimacy. Depth of experience will be sought, and many of you will deepen your levels of intimacy and consequently improve your sexual appeal.
On October 29th, Saturn enters Libra, the sign that rules your romance sector. In the last two months of the year, you are bound to notice some changes in your romantic life, particularly those of you born earlier in the sign of Gemini (May 21 to 26). This influence will stay with you throughout 2010 and most of 2011, and will begin to be felt more strongly for the remainder of the sign in 2010. With Saturn in your fifth house, your romantic relationships require some sort of “clean up”. For many of you, a relationship that may have been frivolous or lighthearted to date will become more serious. In other words, you may make a stronger commitment to a casual romance! Others could meet a more mature or serious romantic partner, some will feel frustrated that their social life is a little too serious, and some of you could end a relationship that doesn’t “cut the mustard”, so to speak.
Uranus continues to spice up your professional life, exposing you to new people and ideas. Some of you (mostly those born June 10-18) are going through quite a rebellious phase! Your need for independence could very well seem threatening to any existing lover or partner. The important thing to remember is that you are listening more to your ego than your heart during this stage, and if you go to an extreme in this sense, you could be leaving behind things or people who mean more to you than you may know. Neptune continues to help you, sensitizing you to new experiences and ways of thinking.

January 18-March 9 is a strong period for deepening a meaningful connection.
In the days surrounding April 21, love could be found on the job or through work connections.
Mercury retrograde in your sign, from May 7-13, can be sticky for you. Others could completely misunderstand you, so it’s best to either choose your words carefully, or avoid making important commitments.
Venus is in your sign from July 5-August 1. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it.
From July 12-August 1, a very special period occurs–both Venus and Mars are traveling close to each other, in your sign! This is a sexy power period. Singles may very well find themselves a passionate relationship now. If there was any lull in your love life during the Venus retrograde period in March to April, you’re certainly making up for it now! Mars is in your sign specifically from July 12-August 26–a period in which you should be going after what (or who) you want with confidence.
From September 22-October 23. Every year when the Sun is in Libra and traveling through your romance sector, your focus is on love, entertainment, romance, and fun.
From September 7-29, Mercury is retrograde partly in your romance sector. It’s a time when you should watch what you say in order to avoid misunderstandings in relationships. It’s probably best not to rock the boat just now.
From October 14-November 8, your charm is easy and natural.
December 1-25 is an auspicious period for attracting or enhancing a close love relationship.
