Aries

In 2009, your friendships and acquaintances, as well as group activities, are sure to expand. You are reaching out and making connections. This could draw your attention away from one-on-one romance to a certain degree.

Two planetary retrogrades in 2009 directly affect your love life: Venus in your sign retrogrades from March 6th to April 17th, and Mars (your ruler) retrogrades in your romance sector from December 20th until March 10th, 2010. During these periods, you are more careful about your love life, drawing back perhaps, and certainly reviewing your love attachments. Some of you may end a romance; others might turn to a past lover for comfort. Many of you will simply take a step back and re-assess your needs in love relationships.

Another major influence on your love life in 2009 begins at the end of October, when Saturn enters your opposing sign, Libra, and your partnership sector. This transit will affect those born earlier in the sign of Aries most (from March 21 to 26), and will be stronger for the rest of the sign in 2010. This is a long-term cycle in which commitment and responsibility to a partner becomes paramount. You may be feeling some pressure from outside sources or from a partner, and some soul-searching is in order. Ultimately, you will learn exactly what a close partnership means to you. For most of February, Venus is in your sign in direct motion. This is a time when the world seems to speaking, or at least appreciating, your “love language”. It’s a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it.

From March 6-April 17, Venus is retrograde in your sign (for the most part). Venus is the goddess of love, but she also rules your partnership sector. This is a period of review and perhaps some negotiation. If you have a partner, he/she might find you a little withdrawn. Some of you may be attracting someone you don’t want or need in your life. An old lover could appear, whether in person or in your mind, slowing down your progress in the here and now, for example. During this time of reassessment, avoid making important or permanent decisions. Wait until the last week of April and beyond before you do so, when many of the issues you’ve been facing could look very different!

From April 25-May 30, both Venus and Mars are traveling close to each other, in your sign! This is a sexy power period. Singles may very well find themselves a passionate relationship now. If there was any lull in your love life during the Venus retrograde period, you’re certainly making up for it now! Mars is in your sign specifically from April 22 to May 31, and it’s time to go after what (or who) you want with confidence.

From July 23-August 22. Every year when the Sun is in Leo and traveling through your romance sector, your focus is on love, entertainment, romance, and fun.

From August 27-September 5, your charm is easy and natural.

From September 7-29, Mercury is retrograde partly in your partnership sector. It’s a time when you should watch what you say in order to avoid misunderstandings in relationships.

From October 16-December 10, Mars is in your romance sector moving in direct motion. The focus is on having fun, confidently going after what you want, and increased sexuality. From October 16 to November 7, Venus is concurrently moving through your partnership sector, making this an exceptional period for love.
